TVs are optimized for TV usage, meaning a distance of something like more than 2m and up, in general not static content, etc.
If you sit at that distance and watch mainly content in motion, all is fine – if you are closer, they are not optimal – color profiles and sharpness algorithms are not the same.
Additionally to that the TV might not be optimized for higher FPS etc (because movies / TV shows are somewhere around 50/60 FPS in general while computer output can be much faster), but that depends.Short answer: It is best to use the TV / display for its intended usecase.
If you will notice the difference depends a little bit on you... some can see a big difference between 60 Hz vs 144 Hz vs 240 Hz, HDR, color corrections, brightnesslevels, etc. some do not.
So the answer is a little bit: It depends.Best regards

A TV is not a computer display – be aware of that. Especially if you want to read text or something like that, many TVs will not do the best job in showing that too you.
I am using two displays or even three sometimes for at least 10 years with A:M and it is fully fine.

Wow, those look amazing.
VERY well done.
I actually thought the first one was a real life picture or a product image before I read it.
Nice.

Looks like an interesting solution Roger!
I also saw this article on tricking the old Windows 10 into allowing an upgrade to 11.
https://www.zdnet.com/article/how-to-upgrade-your-incompatible-windows-10-pc-to-windows-11-in-2025/
I am not that computer savvy to be able to determine what the best solution is. What do others think about these two options (Enterprise vs hacking)?
Tom
Win 11 is not all roses lets say it like that.
They got rid of certain features (for instance Mixed Reality VR support, etc.), inserted more ads, ruined some experiences and are all over the place with forcing you to login in online (much harder to keep an offline account on your pc now), buying their AI solution and so on.
So if the Kinguin.net solution is really a legal one and you are pretty certain it stays till 2032, not a bad idea to go that route.Best regards

Did you start with A:M when you got into 3d or use other 3d programs?I actually started with a software called "Monzoom 3d / Pro" from Oberland Computer. That was a small company which I found a software package in a department store from when I was 14 or something like that. (roundabout 1998)
A couple of years later they went bankrupt and gave out a small broschure for reasonable priced 3d software alternatives to their customers with some smaller deals in there.
(it still is available here for free download nowadays, but of cause very old today: https://www.geoxis.de/monzoom/downloads.htm)There was a deal for Maxon's Cinema4d "light" and a couple of other software... one was Martin Hash's Animation:Master which I especially liked because most other software back then was not aimed at character animation which Monzoom lagged too, while A:M was pretty much focused on that. And that is how I came to A:M.
Later I used 3ds and XSI (at work) too, but nothing came close to the ease of use of A:M and so I stayed.I created a couple of animations for work (because they saw how fast I could create stuff with it ;)), in my studies and my diplom thesis and of cause a lot of different smaller and bigger work for fun.

Just amazing Mike, just amazing.
1998 is even before I started with A:M (first verison was 8.0 / 2000 for me) when I was a teenager.
You already created amazing stuff :).Really great to see that.

You can of cause re-embedded it too, if you want to.
For that go to the model in the PWS, have a look at the properties and go to "File Info > Embedded". Just switch this to yes and it is in again.

Sorry, that one seems to be gone. Maybe Chris or Stefen have it still,
but I doubt it. I asked to get the version, he gave it to me and after a while Steffen included it into A:M.
You would need to use a newer version of A:M to export.Best regards

Lots of people are happier with a lower fidelity experience. I personally think 4k gaming is the worst thing to happy to the hobby, since you're pushing around exponentially more pixels and you can't really see the difference anyway unless you have a 100 inch monitor. On a typical 24" or 32" monitor, you are better off playing at 1080p or 1440p.
The "sweet spot" for realism is probably at the Xbox 360 or PS3 level of graphical fidelity, with the option to fall back to older graphic styles as a stylistic choice: pixel art, hand-drawn adventure games, that type of thing.
We are no talking about a computer or TV screen here.
VR stands for virtual reality and you put on VR headsets like a Meta Quest 3, a HTC Vive Focus Vision or a Pimax Crystal Super to play those. Depending on what we are talking about, these are stand a lone headsets meaning, you can play without attaching a computer to them or for higher / better quality stuff you can use a computer with them. (for instance the HTC Vive Focus Vision can do both)As the games run standalone sometimes on these headsets, they can produce with more or less a medium-to-high smartphone chip these images you need for that.
4K is very important in these scenarios, since the headsets will display 2 x 4k directly in front of your eyes. 4K gaming itself is pretty much not worth playing on a computer screen, if you ask me... 1080p or 1440p is fine for that, but with those headsets you need the high resolution because it just is too close to you eyes otherwise.
These are designed to take a lot of your field of view to give you a greate imersion.Anyway: Nobody needs a 5090 or 5080 for that... those are totally overpriced bullshit cards very few people buy. Even with the high quality stuff for VR the games are designed to run on mid-range or upper mid-range cards just fine (I am using a RX 6800 for this for instance and it works fine)

I am much into VR games these days... those do not need to be that hyper realistic, because in VR space, the immersive factor is high anyway and people know, why the games do not look that great.
In general, VR games need to be rendered at very high resolutions like 2x4k or higher at 90-120fps, often on portable systems – if the headset is a stand-alone one) and like that, hyper realism is not necessary there.Problem is, the VR space / niche is much smaller than the one of main stream gaming. I am not into the Metaverse but into PCVR, but the Metaverse is the one that is increasing.
Not sure what will happen, but VR could be less expensive to develope... at least for now.The good thing is, there is no need for hyper realismn... games can be fun or bad no matter how nice the graphics look or not.

Hello again everyone, it has been some time since my last use of AM, life has played a large part and kids. But hey I'm back full of fresh ideas and I'm ready to get back to creating, I am using V19.0, what is the best way to go about getting my software updated and current? Suggestions please and Thank You.
Hi Carlos,
you can get the newest version (if you do already have a licence version of A:M 19.0 by going to this link:
1.) Using your file explorer go to your installation folder of 19.0 and COPY the file "master0.lic" to your desktop.
2.) Download the new version here:
3.) Install v19.5.
4.) Go to the installation folder of v19.5 and copy the file "master0.lic" from your desktop to this folder.5.) Open v19.5.
If everything worked out, it should now just work.
Otherwise your licence may no longer be current or you might want to try to rename master0.lic in the 19.5 folder to "master0.bak" and try reentering your subscription code.
Best regards

That is normal... first you need to export a model with the rig and then you attach actions (as many as you want) to it.
Have a look at this video-tutorial to get it right:

Windows 11 should not be a problem. Several people I know are using it already without A:M incident and Steffen tests A:M on it after each new build.
I suspect he's on Win 11 already and MS Visual Studio should be producing proper code for it.
But I'm still on Windows 10 myself. My Cintiq won't have a driver for Windows 11. That may be your bigger consideration... whether you have old devices that aren't getting updated drivers for Windows 11.
Microsoft is said to be offering three years of continued maintenance for Windows 10 at $30/year. I might do that if i don't replace Cintiq. For me I am considering something like that because of my VR headsets. Windows 11 gets rid of Mixed Reality Portal and do not have any option to reinstall it afterwards as it seems.

Áll the best to you all.
In Germany it is called "Erntedankfest" (literally means "Thanks for the good harvest celebration").It is much less important than in the US, but we know it too.

The ultimate "reintroduction".
I was Heyvern here many years ago. I tried a few other 3D and 2D apps. Lately using Blender. Still using Moho (2D vector animation).
Years ago when I was younger my brain was soft and absorbent. These days it's a bit crusty and hard, like an old eraser or the candy coating on bubble gum. New stuff just doesn't get in as easily. it's been difficult to find the same ease of use with other apps.
I recently purchased a Bambu A1 3D printer (arriving... soon-ish?) and would love to play around with my original A:M files and also have something I can use for fast easy modeling. I decided what the heck and bought a copy. I'm currently playing around with ancient files I haven't opened in years. All the old skills are still there and it's all coming back.
p.s. I'm also hoping to get my old username access back. Fingers crossed.
I have one too.
It works nicely, but you might want to have a look at this article first (is available in english):

Nicely done and nicely included.
I can see what was done in A:M and what was native Minecraft but I really have to concentrate on it and that means it is very well done.Best regards

It does not, especially not quality vise... AI learns from code which was created by AI more and more and like that they get worse and worse because AI is just going to "claim" something to be right, even so it is wrong.
The more code is produced by AI and the help of AI the worse the code gets and the worse is the learning base for AI systems.Best regards

Depends on what you like and consider cheap.
The best because easiest is Vegas if you ask me, Da Vinci Resolve is free but harder to work with.Best regards

GUI goin' NUTS [solved]
in New Users
Posted
- First suggestion: Get rid of Chrome all along and use Firefox...
- Go in the task manager and go to "details" instead of only the apps view. There you should be able to finde chrome.exe or something in that direction.
- If not, there is likely a program using a WebView by Chrome . Shut down all of them.
