  1. No, no egg commercial, completley different origin.

The animation will follow soon with a bunch of other characters.

I need to do a 4 min sales/pitch/sizzle (pick the term you like best)

video, which should attract investors for a complete tv series.

So i hope for two things:

1: That i am good and fast enough to make the video happen.

2: That there are still some Americans left, which did not put their

money in immobiles or risky bank derivates, and have some

spare bucks to invest em in such a project.

    Cheers

  2. Haha, Mr. Steiner

thats is what i was looking for.

I guess you can uste that tracking stuff as well on a kind of puppet?

I am talking about a spitting image style puppet.

I will look closer into it, but that piece of software seems to do

    what i am looking for.

One more question, how is the animated movement stored within

    Animation Master?

    Thanks for the info

    Best regards

  3. Hi,

thanks, i know that ... what i was thinking was a tool, which

i can use, which applys my poses according to the phonetic

lip movement based on an audio track, and may be written

    script.

Something which gives me basic lip movement, according to script

which later just must exaggerated or evend out in those parts where

    this might be necessary.

    Cheers

  4. I am not sure, but i think

i recall that there was such a

thing like a small tool for lipsyncing,

which could be used in conjunction

    with AM.

Am i right, or is here just my wish

    the father of the thought?

    Cheers

  5. I am not sure, and i did not your suggested tests, Timelord,

but i think RAM issues can be ruled out. I have 2gigs, its not a

complex model, and i was not constructing, but creating

a decal pose, and therfore having my decal image as a

    rotoscope.

    Cheers

  6. @ Eric,

thats exactly the style how my roto is looking.

I tried to change video drivers, no result.

I throwed away the picture, changed its resolution,

    no change ...

When i saved it under another name and as a jpg instead of

.tga, it was visible again, and in the expected resolution.

When i deleted the jpg and loaded the tga again, it was

the same bad result as before.

Now i try to do my stuff fast, before the jpg decides as well

to display only with 1/10th of its real resolution.

    Cheers

  7. Hmmm,

Fuchur, i tried that, but it did not seem to change anything.

The rotoscope, which is 1024x1024 and was clearly visible

is now in such a bad resolution, that it is not really

    of help.

The change really happend just inbetween two sessions

of working with AM. No changes which could have affected

    this aspect of AM ...

    Doh

  8. Hi,

i was working with an rotoscope, on it was fine.

Then, the other day, i opend the project again,

and the rotoscope got displayed in a very bad

resolution, it was almost impossible to recognize ...

    what has happend here?

Where can i take influence on the way how a roroscope

    gets displayed?

    Cheers,

    Heiner

  9. Hmmm,

no response yet. Maybe you are asking yourself the question, why one may want to do

such a thing: Getting UV coordinates out of a obj!

My reason is, that AM is lacking such a thing like a "Least Squares Conformal Map"

algorythm, which is basicly a "flatten" function, but it keeps as good as possible

the "size" of a patch and makes life during creation and application of UV maps

much more easy (as long as you are not using the adaptive tiling which AM painter

    provides).

So, my idea is, to do my modelling in AM, export to XYZ do there the UV mapping,

come back to AM and do the rest of my work here.

There is a way by creating a blueprint of the UV layout in the XYZ app, and use that

in AM, but thats rather tedious and ... hmmm ... unelegant ...

Hope that claryfies a bit my intentions here

    Cheers

  10. Hi there,

i am using AM in conjunction with another application.

After having done my basic modeling in AM i export as .obj

    and enter the other application.

In this app i am doing the UV mapping, and i am prepearing

the model for the later use in the polygon world.

Then i want to go back into AM, enhance my modeling with

poses and do my texturing in AM Painter.

Now my question: Can i use somehow the UV coordinates

from the .obj? It gets imported, this info the importer

    gives.

Thanks for sharing knowledge on this!

  11. Ok, i took a look at the video, and it seems as if it is abit too erratical.

The displacement of the character is great, but i would need the movement somehow

more smooth. Currently it just "jumps" to the ne position. What i would need is rather a sliding

movement, to and from the displaced point.

Aside from that, i will keep that, one day it may come in handy ... :-)

  12. I really would like to have a look at the project, maybe it is what i am looking for.

By the way, woudnt it a nice idea to have some kind of pool, wherin all of the

expression programming folks out there would post their expressions (as long

as they want it to be available for the public?) Just an idea.

    Heiner

  13. It is not that urgent, since i have to do another ton of thing till i come to the part of the pitch where i need this thing.

So, have agood vacation and then when you are back, lets see what has happend till then.

  14. Hi there,

i am planning to buy another version of AM (1year licence) for my stationary PC.

Unfortunateley i will have to change the HD in that (too small). So i will buy a new one

and mirror the old HD with all its content onto the new HD. Will a 1year licence

version of AM still run after such a trick, or do i have to wait till i made the

    transfer?

    Regards

  15. Hi there,

i am doing a pitch for a animation project, and therefore i need to have the character fly along a spline.

But he needs to have an erratic movement, suggesting hyperactivity or something like that. Currently

i am solvin the problem by having a erratic spline, and a look at controller for the char, so his face

remains lined up to the action.

I am thinking ov having a expression, which solves the erratic movement, by randomly generating positions

next to, but significantly off the spline, then gradualy go to that point and back to the spline position, and when its back

there, generate another point off the spline. Of course all this needs to take the absolute position of the character

and his ease speed into consideration. The best would be, if that could happen automaticly, so that in case you

change the ease factor, the erratic movement would adopt itself to the changed factors.

Could such a thing be archived with an expression?

And now the infamous question (since i could not programm to save my life): Would someone out there be able to

do that? As i said, i am currently pitching for the project, and therefore there is no budget at all, but when i

get the jobi am sure i can provide a small honorar.

Off course i would not need that expression exclusive, so all the AM comunity would benefit of this as well (to stress

this aspect of the whole thing as well).

Anyway, thanks for looking into this and considering to help me out.

    Cheers

  16. Mosly people say, that you need to know what you want, that means, that you should organise your scenes and actions prior to the process of modelling it, in order to be able to decide, what you really need to archive your given schedule of shots and scenes.

Anyway, since i am kind of an unorganised guy and also because while working on something, i usualy get the best ideas, i came up wit another approach.

I would model the whole scene in one piece. That leaves you with an huge model. In that model you decide what you need for the next shot. Lest say, there is a pan, and your char should pic up the pan. Now you copy the pan in a seperate model file, which can be used by your char. For the pan in the scene, you add an on/off pose, which scales the pan to size 0 and/or hides it somewhere in the other geometry. Put it back in the cupboard, for example.

This way, you can decide "on the fly" and quickly enhance the functionality of your stage.

    Cheers,

    Heiner
