  1. by that video it appears as though the horse merely changes it's center of gravity and uses it's hind legs as shock absorbers.

  3. Ease-In/Ease-Out This term deals with the positioning of an object between keyframes. In most computer software you can adjust the speed at which an object enters or leaves a keyframe. By making an object slow down as it approaches (Ease-In) or slowly speed up as it leaves (Ease-Out) you can smooth out action. For example, when a ball is bouncing it will slowly come to a stop at the top if its climb (Ease-In) and then slowly accelerate as it rushes toward the ground (Ease-Out). Exaggeration The idea behind exaggeration is to accent the action. However it should be balanced and not used abitrarily. One should figure out the reason for an action, or even sound effects, character design etc... and how to exaggerate the needed sections. The result will be that the animation will seem more realistic and entertaining. What I am attempting to do is stop the "Animatronic" look and make everything smoother
  4. wow! ask and ye shall recieve! (bookmarked your blog)
  5. John I am just going to have to go get lost in your section and learn what I can! You amaze me.
  6. wow! That would have been perfect for my Wip! After the guy was electrocuted I wanted him toasted black with glowing spots still burning. So much to learn! So much.
  7. I agree, I was needing a lava type material where the glowing red parts that showed through the black rock flowed a bit.
  8. I just felt the need to say thank you. All my life your program is exactly what I have been needing to let my creativity flow and bring my characters to life. I only wish I found it years ago. I cannot express enough how much this program has made me smile. I am a disabled Veteran and cannot work so I was searching for something to use my many free hours on. And wow did I find it! You have a loyal and dedicated customer in me and I will when I can buy every addon and cd possible! I look forward to anything you create and will definantly put it on my to buy list. Again just thought a THANK YOU was called for. Robert Thompson / The Spleen
  9. Thanks tons everyone! The people on this forum are the ones whose opinions I value most. As a side note: Halfway through this video I read a post on "ease in/ease out" Hopefully the final parts of this video will show a smoother animation as I attempt to incorporate this lesson.
  10. Thanks! Practice makes perfect and thats all these are right now.

  12. I admire your character modeling alot.
  13. Thanks John! I went ahead and did it without blood and it came out ok. I am onto the electrocution now LOL I figure a good glow setting on the victim will work for that effect.
  14. After 2 and a half hours and no first frame I shut it down
  15. Thanks to everyone helping! I got the keyframes to stick! But I am now at an hour and 30 minutes and still no first frame? it started counting the other frames in a progress bar and that took a longtime (over 1000 frames) and now it says it is rendering shadows. I am assuming it wont do that long progress bar on frame 2. is this normal? Hair took awhile so I assume liquid is the same. no hair in this one just the liquid. the scene is a guillotine and when the head drops I have red blood spewing from the neck (eeewwww) I might have to figure the shot out without blood. sure would like it though lol. I am not stopping render yet.
  16. No... Emission-Rate and it should be the other way round. 0% for nothing emitting, 100% for full emittering. (depending on the emission set in each of the particle-systems. *Fuchur* Ok thank you! I found emission rate and set it but if I put frame 48:01 at 100% it still wants to start at frame 1. I set frame 48:00 and all before it at 0% and hit keyframe. but they still jump to 100% when I set frame 48:01. what am I doing wrong?
  17. Thank you John is that emitter properties? little confusing sorry, 0 till I want it to stop?
  18. ok I have fluid working no problem. Problem is I need it to start at frame 48:00 and it wants to start at frame 00:01 how can I set it to start at that frame? Thank you.
  19. there should be more bending of the knees at first. She seems to jump from her toes. She should bend her knees more on the landing as well. it is more of a stiff legged hop to me than a jump.
