nerrazzi
A while back I was contacted about donating one of my car models for the 2005 Hash cd, well I've decided to go ahead and finish the interior and basic upper engine components to give it more substance... Been working on the door jam and back seat area, here's a sneak-peek.

nerrazzi
I start with creating a basic outline of the dash and then begin cutting away at key points to make the instrument panel, air vents etc....

jamagica
That's awesome. i've always had a question about vents and stuff like that. How do you do it? Create that shaped plate and use the duplicator wizard?
nerrazzi
i've always had a question about vents and stuff like that. How do you do it? I just create the basic overall shape of the object to be built first and then go in and cut out anything that needs to protrude from it like the instrument gauges and so forth. Just cut out the glove box and rendered...
jamagica
I knew that part...i'm talking about the actual vent..how do you create the actual vent to put in the cut out part
nerrazzi
how do you create the actual vent to put in the cut out part Well there are a few ways to do this but what I did was select the opening or the part that I just cut out, copy/paste and scale it down & size it to fit inside that new opening. After that, you extrude back to form the rest of the vent housing then you just spline in the vent blades themselves and adjust them until they look right inside the vent housing. starwarsguy
How do you "cut out" from the basic shape? It's SO curvy! AgghhH! lol
