starwarsguy Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 While I was working on my Hailfire droid, I got bored trying to find textures (which i WILL do later ), so I started a Dwarf Spider Droid. Here's the foot: Quote
starwarsguy Posted August 22, 2004 Author Posted August 22, 2004 What a Dwarf Spider Droid looks like, lol: Quote
Admin Rodney Posted August 22, 2004 Admin Posted August 22, 2004 Please tell us more about your project. (I'm forgetful. If you've told us I need reminding) Are you doing this as a solo project or collaborating with others? Nice Dwarf Spider thus far by the way! Quote
starwarsguy Posted August 22, 2004 Author Posted August 22, 2004 Well, here's the lowdown: -I am doing this as a solo project -I am putting together the elements I need to recreate some Clone War battles -I'm going to send my finished film into TheForce.net Fanfilms -The story is called Clone Commander and it follows a Commander through the war and you see what's going on from his point of view Please post any questions. I am still writing the script, but I am concentrating on the models right now. If any of you out there like Star Wars, I will be releasing all of my models on the internet for free after I release my film. By the way, I had ALOT of spare time and I've about finished the Dwarf Spider. Here it is: Quote
starwarsguy Posted August 22, 2004 Author Posted August 22, 2004 My modeling skills have come pretty far from where I was a month ago, but I am still pretty bad at texturing (that's why nothing is textured yet). If I can't get decals from the actual model in the movie, should I make my own or just use materials? I am a REALLY bad texturer. Quote
Admin Rodney Posted August 22, 2004 Admin Posted August 22, 2004 If any of you out there like Star Wars, I will be releasing all of my models on the internet for free after I release my film. Oh Good Grief! How am I supposed to keep from animating then!!! Ugggghhhh. I'm running out of excuses. Seriously though, I'm very impressed with your skills and generosity. Rodney Quote
steve392 Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 That is one nice model ,very crisp looking Quote
starwarsguy Posted August 22, 2004 Author Posted August 22, 2004 thank you all, I'll have it textured soon and give you a awalk cycle video Quote
entity Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 I think you've come a long way... You do good texturing... use the textures you get. It's a lot faster then painting them yourself. Quote
JohnArtbox Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 That's a great model.... you've made some huge steps There are quite a few textures available on the net which can serve as good starting points, but if you're trying to match the model you invariably have to modify/create your own. This doesn't mean painting from scratch, you can cut and paste from lots of sources, including a digital camera. looking forward to more Quote
lazz Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 Very well done. can't wait to see it with textures and movement! Quote
-TC- Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 Great work starwarsguy. I just have one thing to mention: I think the head needs to made a bit bigger, it looks smaller compared to the one in the picture. Anyway, great modeling and i look forward to the walk cycle and the film. Quote
