*A:M User* Shelton Posted January 16, 2018 *A:M User* Share Posted January 16, 2018 Before I put in a bug report, I wanted to check to see if others are having issues with hair and ao and version 19. Any hair settings I make to the hair results in a carpet like tender when AO is used.
itsjustme
It seems to be working or me, but I would have to have time to let the renders finish...I'll try again tomorrow.
itsjustme
Do you have an example file and renders, Steve?
*A:M User* Shelton Posted January 18, 2018 Author *A:M User* Share Posted January 18, 2018 It seems to have something to do with the thickness. If I increase the thickness the "carpet" look is lessen. I have been using .015 thickness and have applied ao. I will upload a pic
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted January 18, 2018 Hash Fellow Share Posted January 18, 2018 I made a few tests your sample in v19, still using the same 0.15 thickness and Jitter set to 100% 1 pass 3 passes 16 passes 64 passes 256 passes
itsjustme
I've been using the standard hair thickness (.039, if I remember correctly), but I add an image of some hair strands I painted in the material. It looks better, but it will increase your render time because of the transparency. Hope that helps.
