Darthlister Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 Hey all, Still working on the landscape and looking for a good "how to do a tree" tutorial. I've got one, but having a hard time making it look full. Thanks for any pointers, Rich Quote

largento Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 There was a very cool iOS app called TreeSketch that made it easy to create trees, but alas, it seems to have been discontinued. I found the rendering times for trees too high and so I ended up going with 2D trees. As long as you make sure they point at the camera, it worked well for me and I realized early on, that people rarely see the trees for the forest, so I got away with using only one tree over and over again. :-) Quote
Xtaz Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 I modeled a lot of them to Anything Goes Contest early in 2012, I used treez plugin to trunk ( displacement map as texture) and hair to leaves... 1 Quote
Guest Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 I've made an attempt at developing a tree "kit". http://reynolds.hash.com/tree_tute/tree_tute.htm The leaves shown in this tutorial use a proprietary EnhanceAM material but I've since developed a native AM material that is almost equivalent, as shown below. If this meets you're expectations I can send you the zip file. Quote
