jimd
Hi Last week I lost the ability to open v17 and v18 in mac Mavrik and mac Yosomite the problem started after taking a break and relaunching (up until then no problems) I can use v16 but v16 will not render any files even though it says render complete (to clarify the render issue v16 goes through the render process says complete but I cannot locate the files anywere I suspect the the master0.lic thats my only guess and I'm not do to expire until 2-2016 I did the usual disk management on my drives and tried moving the master0.lik to v17 v18 but they fail and crash on load I did send an email to tech support but as of yet no and, so I'm here Thanks all jim
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted June 22, 2015 Hash Fellow Share Posted June 22, 2015 Do the ones that don't work actually give an "expired license" message.
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted June 22, 2015 Hash Fellow Share Posted June 22, 2015 And as always... have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling?
Fuchur
sounds like a corrupt installation or problems with the rights of the directory you have A:M installed in to me. try to reinstall. that may help. see you *fuchur*
jimd
Hi Guys I did do a reinstall Yes if i make a copy of v16 and place into v18 its says license expired
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted June 23, 2015 Hash Fellow Share Posted June 23, 2015 Yes if i make a copy of v16 and place into v18 its says license expired But v16 still runs. Hmm. What if you make another installation of v18 into a new folder? Leave the old V18 where it is and install v18 into a completely new folder. markw
Hi jimdYou can open the master0.lic file at any time with a text editing app, such as Mac's own TextEdit, and read the exact expiry date of the licence. As I recall when Mavericks was first released A:M was on v17g and would not launch due to unexpected changes in OSX introduced by Apple with Mavericks.Steffen was able to alter A:M and soon had it working again with v17g+.If your v16 is working on Mavericks/Yosemite then that is maybe something of bonus! However those phantom renders you mention may be a sign of a deeper incompatibility of v16 with the latest Mac OS.When you say "the usual disk management" did you use Disk Utility to first check your HD's formatting with Verify/Repair Disk as well as using Verify/Repair Permissions? jimd
I did but for some reason when i copied it over it was showing up as 2013 (which i did not know until the text edit trick you guys gave me today) so when i tried to open it just said expired which of course made no sense I wish I knew what happened to cause this in the first place (: oh well we learn by crashing thanks again all j
