nemyax Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 After reading about poses in techref.pdf, I'm trying to set up a pose slider: Plop a cube into the choreography pane. Right-click the cube's bone, select New | Pose | Percentage. In the relationship pane, rotate the bone and scrub the slider to make sure it works. Back in the choreography pane, set keys on the pose channel. As a result, the pose slider value changes over time, but the cube isn't animated. What am I doing wrong? Quote

Go to the Properties of the model in the PWS and set the Pose to "0" (instead of "not set"). It should work after that. Hope that helps. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted July 9, 2014 Hash Fellow Posted July 9, 2014 I have never started a pose from the chor before! I've started them from the model window. That is not the problem however. I have found that the last thing added to a Pose doesn't get recognized until a save has happened. Force a save on your PRJ after you make the Pose and it will work. Quote
nemyax Posted July 9, 2014 Author Posted July 9, 2014 Thanks! I'm finding that using keys and poses on the same transform channels produces funny results. The axes seem mixed up in the pose data. Nevertheless, A:M's ability to blend keys and multiple poses is quite ingenious. Looks like this system is unique. Quote

For clarity I avoid using pose slider on something I will also want to key because they can get added in awkward ways. But it's there if you want or need the power. You may wish to look up my tut on draggable poses which will create actual keys on things in the time line rather than just a setting of a pose slider. Looks like this system is unique. It's a powerful thing. Quote

Or hit space-bar to force a refresh in the chor... that works for me (just tested it). A while back (did not happen this time I tested it with v18) it could happen that you did not see the pose you newly added to a model that already was in the chor. But what you could see was the tab "All" in the pose-window. To get the new pose, I only had to click on the "All" tab to get the pose... The alternative was to restart A:M, but I think just a click is much faster... Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted July 12, 2014 Hash Fellow Posted July 12, 2014 Or hit space-bar to force a refresh in the chor... Hey, that's cool! I've hardly ever touched the space bar in A:M. Quote
