Admin Rodney Posted February 22, 2014 Admin Posted February 22, 2014 Hmmm... looks intriguing. As it is already funded and still has 18 days to go... I might have to bite at this one. Although in many ways this is more of a novelty item it does have some practicality to it also. This might be primarily of interest for those of you with a desire for a Cintique but a budget closer to an iPad. Of interest to me is how this effort actually helps to bridge the gap between old 2D methodology and the newer digital approaches. I hate it when kickstarter projects limit the number of distros in the tier I want and don't allow similarly priced options. Quote
jakerupert Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 The first movie on this site is really great... But why would anybody need such a thing in the days of animestudio and wacoms? Working digitally saves a lot of scanning! Quote
Simon Edmondson Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 A friend spotted something that might be of interest here ? Its called a Slate21 and is made by HP. I've only glanced at it briefly but, it seems competitively priced and, if you can connect a wacom tablet to it on the W8 model perhaps ideal as a animation workstation for drawn or AM type work ? regards simon https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=hp+slate2...8IIPP0AXB84GABw Quote
jakerupert Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Only works with android, so no option really... Quote
Simon Edmondson Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Only works with android, so no option really... Jost The bit I saw suggested W8 as well but it was a bit vague on the subject. I'm not technically aware enough to know and got told off by my brother in law for asking. regards simon Quote
jakerupert Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 As far as i understand, its a monitor with build in Android ( like some tvs ) and you can use it also with a regular pc. Then you would have the other OS but no "tablet" anymore . Quote
*A:M User* Roger Posted March 1, 2014 *A:M User* Posted March 1, 2014 I've had bad luck with Kickstarter so far, with the exception of some stuff from John Kricfalusi I don't think I've received anything for stuff I've funded. I knew there was a chance of that but they seemed like safe gambles. Quote
ruscular Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 people who have bad luck with Kickstarter have switch to using the Patreon site http://www.patreon.com/ There are some people who have made $2000 per month off of it! Quote
