sahold Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Still in the process of learning the program, but i cant find anything in the manual or here that explains why im consistently getting these odd shaded triangle sections whenever i try to make a sphere of any kind. They originate from the top and bottom where all the CPs meet and extend out along the surface when i put it in shaded wire-frame view, has anyone else seen this or am i just missing something downright obvious? markw Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Hi and welcome sahold That sounds like it might be due to pinching at the poles of the sphere. Screen shots can always help in these situations. But try this as a remedy... Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted March 17, 2013 Hash Fellow Posted March 17, 2013 Markw is likely right. If you have created a lathe outline with some CP on the center (or worse... crossing over the center), nudge it with the cursor key until it is just barely to the side. It doesn't have to be much. sahold Posted March 17, 2013 Author Posted March 17, 2013 Much appreciated, that fixed the pinching issue, only other thing is that i cant seem to make the sphere smooth, the whole surface looks made of hard edged squares. Added screenshot this time. Quote
higginsdj Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Press the page up key (Windows) a couple of times.... Cheers Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted March 17, 2013 Hash Fellow Posted March 17, 2013 The realtime view has an adjustable subdivision... PageUp: smoother, slower PageDown: flatter, faster Quote
pixelplucker Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 You can select those cp's and scale them to o,o,o which will put them all in exactly the same spot. Type in the 0's to make sure. Quote
