Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted January 30, 2013 Hash Fellow Posted January 30, 2013 For a tutorial, I'm looking for example images of the following. Images that in a one-second glance can demonstrate the idea... Motion Blur Depth of Field Shadows Ambiance Occlusion Reflections Particles and Hair Subsurface scattering Fog Toon Render Field Render Stereoscopic 3D Plugin-shaders I have candidates for some of these but perhaps you recall better ones. If you can think of a good image, post a link to it here. Thanks! Quote
Admin Rodney Posted January 30, 2013 Admin Posted January 30, 2013 Nancy's "undercover" music video captures a few of those (not sure the music can be used for what you have in mind however). It's an example of innovative ways to incorporate particle and geometrically based hair. I don't think there is a particular frame I'd select from the animation to point to which makes me wonder if short animation sequences (1 or more seconds) might serve your needs as well. depK62JXn6M Quote
Admin Rodney Posted January 30, 2013 Admin Posted January 30, 2013 Way back in the day John (Artbox) Henderson created some very nice claymation and miniature looking sets and characters. Here's one that demo's the DOF effect: (from this topic) Quote
Admin Rodney Posted January 30, 2013 Admin Posted January 30, 2013 Stian is well known for his highly detailed AO renders: Perhaps you could even zoom in on an image like this to demo the level of detail. (from this topic) Quote
Admin Rodney Posted January 31, 2013 Admin Posted January 31, 2013 This doesn't capture Motion Blur in one image but it is a nice (and simple) demonstration of the effectiveness of Motion Blur. This from Vance Gloster: [vimeo]46081086[/vimeo] (from this topic) For the best Motion Blur images I'd say that Marcos's use of his subframe motion blur (using MUFOOF to render multiple images in one frame for propellers and such) may provide some ideal imagery. Admin Rodney Posted January 31, 2013 Admin Posted January 31, 2013 I'm not sure what this one classifies as (besides a cool modeling/AO/HDRI demo): It's one from Stian: M8kLBSklFc8 It even identifies the 'passes' used (i.e. motion blur, reflection etc.) Quote

John Bigboote Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 For AO, Here's a test I did in V16 a while back... may not suit your needs. AO_V16.mov Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 23, 2013 Author Hash Fellow Posted February 23, 2013 Can anyone point me to a great toon render of an anime character? There must be some here but when I look in past contest winner pages only html code shows up. Quote
Admin Rodney Posted February 23, 2013 Admin Posted February 23, 2013 The poster is Photoshop'd up considerably but Aoki Tact's Haruwo is an anime classic: Aoki Tact's 'Haruwo' If we can find a high rez image that'd be sweet. There are many others as well... Quote
Admin Rodney Posted February 23, 2013 Admin Posted February 23, 2013 Lots of great images at the old animas park.net site: Animas Park Gallery Quote
Admin Rodney Posted February 23, 2013 Admin Posted February 23, 2013 This is something of the classic anime style: http://animaspark.net/xoops2/uploads/photos/55.jpg Quote
