steve392
Is there a way to reduce the splines in an OBJ model other than deleating them one at a time .Got a model I would like to use but it has way to much geometary in it
Xtaz
You can remodel it using snap to surface.... if you do it remember to import the OBJ as a prop.
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted November 10, 2012 Hash Fellow Share Posted November 10, 2012 Is there a way to reduce the splines in an OBJ model other than deleating them one at a time .Got a model I would like to use but it has way to much geometary in it That is the classic polygon import challenge. If it is an all-quads models, judiciously deleting unnecessary "splines" and leaving only the important contours is likely the easier route. Fuchur
Use SnapToSurface (STS)... that is exactly the problem where it can help very very much, especially since you are very likely facing the problem of a massive slowdown if we are talking about massive amounts of polygones /patches in the OBJ. Additional to that, it is very likely that there are not the best edge-loops in the obj-file, so you would have to correct many things anyway. Depending on the model this is a much faster route. You can find a video-tutorial on my website about STS in A:M. (Video Tutorials) See you *Fuchur*
