Something I've always wondered: exactly what the heck is a poop deck?

Shiver me timbers,

I think its where the wheel was located but most likely to be wrong there..

My pieces of eight.

|off to find treasure in the Wiki...

I had heard (this is likely apocryphal) that it was where the privy was located. My money is on your answer :)

The ever-trustworthy Wikipedia says

Ps

The first ever animated series I watched was called " Captain Pugwash" and remains a favourite to this day. A rather pompous and bumbling Pirate, the brains of the crew was the cabin boy..

I didn't see the Aardman film about Pirates but hope to get the DVD this month.

Oh if only I had a parrot...

Someone gave me a toy parrot like the one in the photo some years ago. I had to take the batteries out because it kept repeating what people said. If the TV or stereo was on loud it would repeat those too...

Ps

Not a political point but, The President clearly has a sense of humour, and a John Cleese like ability to keep a straight face in the face of comedy.
