I started this a year ago as an exercise in splinemanship. Had a few minutes last night and have missed playing with A:M so I finished it up.

for it's 'innuendo'...

I guess beauty isn't the only thing in the eye of the beholder. . . :D

I must be gettin old. It never occurred to me. ;)

The only critique I have is that the four square corners aren't beveled...that would make it perfect. Very cool, Myron!

Here's sort of an illustration of the splines that would need to be continued to bevel the corners (sorry it's a little sloppy). Then a very slight rounding on the corners would finish it off.

Good eye, David. actually when I started it, the front edge of the square wasn't beveled either. To get those corners beveled, (and I wanted to) would have taken me back to the beginning of the project, so I just beveled the front edge before I did a CFA. As it was just an exercise I decided to let it go. The main point of the exercise was getting a round hole integrated into a square mesh, all connected. Learning how to bend splines and control points to my will. :D

EDIT:

Ok, Ok... after looking at it again, I realized that the splinage was already in place, and it just needed some persuasion.

Man, I love the elegance of this software.
