When I Copy and Paste between two documents [like between Model#3 and Model#7, but both in the same .prj] I usually get three copies stacked on each other. Any clues as to why that happens? Thanks.

Last time I saw something like that I discovered that the model I was coping was three models on top of one another. How that happened was a mystery. If your sure the original model is not the same way then I don't know.

If you are pasting by using a keyboard shortcut, (Ctrl+V), you might be holding down the keys too long. You could adjust the timing of the auto-repeat in your keyboard settings or practice a lighter touch or use the menu paste command.

In these cases, Group-Connect is a lifesaver!

First: Click on a CP(carefully, you dont want to select more than one cp here) of your source-object and use group-connect (Default-Key: /) and move it aside...

Is it only one model or is the problem already there?

Have a look at your options-panel too... there is a setting which may help you to determine what is going on there:

Units -> Paste / Extrude-Offset.

This is it! I checked the original that was copied. There's only one there. Early in my A:M days, I had a problem with white lines highlighting the patches. Nancy Gormanzano showed how to see if there was a second copy underneath. [click on a spline near a CP and Group Connect. Slide object away to reveal what's underneath. Clicking directly on the CP won't work.]

But I know that as a .prj grows and models are added, my machine slows and the CTRL>V often doesn't register. So I hit it hard and hold it. That's gotta be doing it. Thanks all.
