flashawd Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 Hello - been working on a second tooth animation for my dentist client, the first one was the Veneers. This second one was much more challenging, I had to set up several pose sliders to get the different effects. The most interesting part was creating the "impression" which is like a lump of clay on a mouthpiece that goes in the mouth - then having it pull out w/ an impression of the teeth in the clay. Anyway, here it is if anyone is curious. It's on my site - the lower center under section "2D & 3D Flash Demonstations" - it's the first one just click on "VIEW" http://www.flashanimationwebsitedesign.com/ Thanks for all the help from my posts - Eric Quote

Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted October 4, 2008 Hash Fellow Posted October 4, 2008 That looks very professional! But you left out the blood-curdling screams of the patient. Quote
flashawd Posted October 4, 2008 Author Posted October 4, 2008 Hey Storm and Rob - thanks for the comments. Funny you say that Rob - the dentist is very cool and I was going to do that as a joke! Quote
Gerry Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Eric, that's some seriously nice animation and modeling work, but it doesn't look like fun. But then I guess any animation of a medical procedure would look a little, how shall I say, gut-twisting. Quote
flashawd Posted October 5, 2008 Author Posted October 5, 2008 Hi Gerry - thank you. My wife had to have the procedure done, they actually cut the gums open and fold them back... I made it a little less dramatic and made it a transparent cross-section, so the patient watching it wouldn't pass out. Quote
Admin Rodney Posted October 5, 2008 Admin Posted October 5, 2008 Very impressive and well done animation. When I first saw that drill bit... Woooeee! I feel much better now...thanks. Your client should show these video to people before they come to visit. They might be more convinced to take better care of their teeth! Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted October 5, 2008 Hash Fellow Posted October 5, 2008 Dentist drills always remind me of this Don Martin Cartoon http://johnkstuff.blogspot.com/2008/08/don...essence-of.html Remember, it's not the pain... only the pressure of the drill on the exposed nerve! Quote
flashawd Posted October 6, 2008 Author Posted October 6, 2008 Hi Rodney - thanks for the compliment. Quote
