Phil
Hi all, This has been driving me nuts, The smudge on the forhead is only showing here. when I render the model, it goes away. Any ideas? Something to do with a 5 point patch? It's happening on both sides.
Dhar
Five point patches are notorious for that. But if it renders OK in final, then I wouldn't worry about it. Besides, that patch doesn't get extreme movements so I wouldn't worry about it too much
mtpeak2
I think it's just how realtime is reading the decal, on the 5 pointer, you have for the hair. I've seen this before, no big deal.
MattWBradbury
Nice head model. Did you just use the thread to show it off? He kind of looks like Forest Gump.

zandoriastudios
Check your NORMALS direction SHIFT+1 That shading is caused when the adjacent patches are not all facing the same direction. use the PATCH SELECT button to select the offending patch, then type F to flip the normal direction. Phil
That shading is caused when the adjacent patches are not all facing the same direction I checked all the normals, there all facing outwards Thanks Dhar
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted September 29, 2007 Hash Fellow Share Posted September 29, 2007 Send the head in to www.hash.com/reports with an explanation of the problem and pics to illustrate it. Does the problem persist if you remove all the decals from the model? I recall having a similar problem where a part of a decal would show up on patches I had hidden to prevent them from getting stamped by the decal. Good looking character! Dhar
I don't think you need to worry about that smudge, it won't show up in final render. I say this because Barry's model "Will" has the same issues in quick render, but it is OK in final.
