Heath_Naylor Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Here it is. There is no showcase thread anymore... Odd. Seeing as he is not done I will put him here. Walk And Wave - NEW! Walk Cycle Animation What do you guys think? Quote
Luuk Steitner Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Are you sure that link is correct? I don't see an animation like you describe. Quote
Nunsofamerica Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 I couldn't find it there either, but I saw it on youtube today Quote
Heath_Naylor Posted February 11, 2007 Author Posted February 11, 2007 Yeah, it is there now, try again. Sorry. Quote
frosteternal Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Here it is. There is no showcase thread anymore... Odd. Seeing as he is not done I will put him here. Walk Cycle Animation What do you guys think? Cute. I like how he falls over at the end. Nice music; he seems to be "power-walking" to it. No real critiques here. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 12, 2007 Hash Fellow Posted February 12, 2007 Cute stuff! I like the floppy arms. He doesn't seem to be in sync with the DJ though... Quote
Heath_Naylor Posted February 12, 2007 Author Posted February 12, 2007 Yeah, I was trying to sync it up with music, but some parts were on others were off. Gave up on that, figured I'd let the animation speak for itself. Still working on this character, giving him a mouth. Not sure what to do for the mouth poses. Quote
mfortunato Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Hi Heath - Great character design. The animation is fluid and looks perfectly suited to the character. Very whimsical. Would make a perfect fit in Futurama - he could take Bender on! . - Michael Quote
nimblepix Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Nice job Heath! I watched it with the sound off. Very fluid and natural. He looks like a friendly robot. Kinda Gomer Pyle like. Quote
Heath_Naylor Posted February 12, 2007 Author Posted February 12, 2007 Thanks for the comments guys. I tweaked him some more and added a mouth. Let me know what you think. Walk And Wave Quote
MattWBradbury Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 The Dixie Chicks have taken the place of your video for some reason. You might want to check that out. Bender could take a million of those robots on. He would make his own Fighting Arena, with Black Jack, and Hookers. Forget the Fighting Arena. Quote

It should be up shortly... I think. Quote
Heath_Naylor Posted February 13, 2007 Author Posted February 13, 2007 All right guys, the video is UP! Sorry for the confussion. Walk And Wave Let me know what you think. Quote
nimblepix Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I think it's just right. No criticisms. Quote
Heath_Naylor Posted February 13, 2007 Author Posted February 13, 2007 Horrible News. My file got corrupt, AM randomly crashed and now anytime I try to open the file it crashes. Anyone got a fix, I will start working on new robot, any suggested improvements? EDIT: He's OK! I have remodeled him, like this one better anyways. Quote
nf1nk Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Sometimes with corrupt animation master files, you can open them with a text editor, and if you have an eye for detail find what is horribly wrong and fix it. This is both frustrating and difficult. I have done it a few times with older versions of the software (8.5 to version 10), but since it became much more stable (thank you programmers) I haven't needed to do it again. Also I started backing up my work on a regular basis. Mostly you have learned a valuable lesson in backing up your work. Other file advise is to save all models as their own file if you care about them, ditto actions and Choreography's. Quote
Heath_Naylor Posted February 15, 2007 Author Posted February 15, 2007 Yeah, I have 15 save files of him now from start to finish, the final is saved on my computer, over the network on my other computer, over the network on my brothers computer, and on my flash drive. I emailed it to myself as well. So I have him for good. I tweaked him a bit more and posed him, what do you think? Quote
nimblepix Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Still good. Not sure about that space behind his eyes though. Quote
