Leo73 Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 I most of the other training materials that they offer. I am wondering if the NonLinear cd is worth getting. I am sure that I would benefit from it but I would like to hear some opinions on it from some people that have it. Thanks Leo Quote
luckbat Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 The NLA CD is one of the older CD-ROMs that the Anzovins sell, but it was instrumental in my understanding of the non-linear animation system in A:M. In my opinion, too few Hash users really understand how to use multiple chors and actions, and they're missing out. Quote
Leo73 Posted February 21, 2006 Author Posted February 21, 2006 Cool then I will definitely check it out then. Thanks for the quick reply luckbat. Quote
Admin Rodney Posted February 21, 2006 Admin Posted February 21, 2006 Here is about the only negative thing I can say about Anzovin products: As Luckbat said Raf's Nonlinear Animation CD is one of the oldest product (if not THE oldest) they produced. The sound/audio has much to be desired and the video is not as crisp as newer products. It is probably my least favorite of all their products for this reason. Despite this shortcoming Raf's 'Nonlinear Animation' still makes for a great part of my collection when coupled with the other Anzovin CDs. I haven't yet purchased their "Animate! with Cristin McKee" series but plan to this year. I'm looking forward to that! I don't think an A:M User can go wrong with the purchase of any CD Anzovin has produced to date. It's Very useful information provided in a very accessable format. I need to review this one once more to mine it for gold all over again. Rodney Quote
martin Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 I wish all A:M animators would watch the Anzovin training CDs. If you save even one hour of your valuable animating time, it's worth it, (and you'll probably save 100s of hours!) Quote
pwaslen Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 I got the NLA video a long time ago....in fact it is in VHS. Despite its age it would still be very useful in understanding how the NLA system works in AM. It covers blending actions, adding to actions, transitioning from one action to the next. Very useful! Anzovins' CDs really are excellent. I am just finishing up with Cristen's CDs and I have learned so much. Paula Quote
Leo73 Posted February 22, 2006 Author Posted February 22, 2006 I personally have learned some much about A:M just from watching their training materials. I guess that's why I want to continue with their products. Like I said, I have most of the training materials produced by them so far with the exception of a couple. But I think I will fill out my collection. I think newcomers should be encouraged to check out their products as Martin said the material provided definitely saves you alot of time and allows you to get right down to animating Quote
Leo73 Posted March 8, 2006 Author Posted March 8, 2006 Just got this cd in the mail the other day. I will have to watch this one a couple of times. It's very informative though. Thanks again everyone for suggesting this one and giving advice Leo Quote

blakindigo2 Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 The Anzovin videos are simply -- A must! The bundles they offer are reasonably priced and are packed with tons of information; its like taking a master class in your home. These CD's are well thought out, and offer many tips and tricks (and in some cases really elegant solutions) for many newbies (like me) to follow along. I would not hesitate for a minute in recommending them. Quote
Dhar Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I purchased Cristin's DVD last month, and I don't consider myself a noob. Even though it was basic to me, I still enjoyed the fact that it was a good exercise in basics that, I at least, feel the need to revisit every now & then. I highly recommend Cristin's DVD's. She has a very nice voice too Quote
Admin Rodney Posted September 23, 2006 Admin Posted September 23, 2006 (edited) I should have a front row seat to my own opinion of Cristin's CDs soon as I'll be purchasing tonight. I'll be buying Barry's first CD too... Jeff Lew and Will Sutton's CDs will have to wait for next month as that'll finish off this month's budget for animation resources. The good news... September is almost over. Edit: Ordered. Vol 2 looks like it'll be an interesting one. Vol 2 topics: Arcs * IK vs FK * Timing * Silhouette * Pose * Holds * Exaggeration * Revisions Silhouetting is (in my own opinion) one of the most neglected principles of animation seen in the work of aspiring animators.
