bkumanchik Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 Just wanted to show my first A.M mechanical model - a Taxi Cab. Feedback (good or bad) welcome. Brian Kumanchik Quote
R Reynolds Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 Good first effort. The roof signage looks a bit too large, IMO. Is it an original design? I don't recognize the prototype. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 15, 2005 Hash Fellow Posted February 15, 2005 That looks like a good job of economical modeling! Meaning: not too many splines. I suppose if you wanted doors that open you'd still have some work to do, but with the right textures on it this could look pretty sharp as it is. Hard to tell if you'll have creases in this wireframe view, but I don't see any obvious splining mishaps yet. I think the big sign on the top is like the ones you see on Manhattan or Las Vegas cabs advertising shows. They're practically billboards. Quote
pixelmech Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 Really good use of splines! My musclecar has a lot more than that. I think I am going for more detail but still. It looks kind of like a caprice. Do you mind giving the readers digest version of how you modeled it? I'd be interested to compare it with how I am going about my car. Quote
starwarsguy Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 Wow, so little splines... And it still looks good! Great job! Quote
heyvern Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 It looks like a Ford Torus... I am just guessing... I especially like that it has windshield wipers... it's raining here now and I need some new ones. Vernon "Your door is ajar" Zehr Quote
bkumanchik Posted February 15, 2005 Author Posted February 15, 2005 Some funkiness in the trunk area. I modeled it by extruding a front profile and tweaking it from the top and side, then I just stiched-in the wheel wells and added details. still needs some work, about 1200 patches. BK Quote
