A friend asked me to do a graphic for his Barbershop Quartet called "Four Aces" and this is what I came up with on the first attempt. Comments and Suggestions are welcome. The idea is the suits came from the cards that lay and stand in the background (that's the reason why the cards are missing their center suit graphic).

That's fun! Nice idea. They look at little stoned, though. Or just very tired. Maybe that's part of their image?

Thanks for sharing your work,

I like the bodies.

How about tapering the legs so they are thinner near the top?

This would be stronger "design-wise" , more flexible in animation, and reduce the visual conflict of them not being actually attached to the body.

Thanks for the suggestions... I agree with the comment on the stoned look... they don't look like they have much energy. I'll also change the legs to make them a bit thinner on the tops to see the difference it makes. Currently there's no plans to do an animation with them.

Hi John

fun image. Part of the staticness of the characters is the fact that all the character's bodies are perfectly straight. Twisting their bodies off centre would help.

You might set the hats a little lower, they feel like they're floating. Maybe try moving the hat to one side on the Heart and angled. Might have to tilt everyones hat then to balance it out.
