I've began work on the Tinman's Chambers. I've got a proxy model done and I've started on the Final version. It's the same dimensions as Scarecrow's bedroom, except I've added a small addition to one side. I intend to place his 'workshop' in this area and include a large stained glass window. Since he doesn't have a bed I thought it would allow me to fill the empty space up. I should have pics ready sometime in the following week. Al, would you like me to send you the model for the proxy to look at?
I'm also continuing to tweak the textures for Scarecrows bedroom. Toning down the colors, less busy wallpaper design. Nothing to serious as I consider the set on svn final product.

(That wallpaper is WAY too busy but the window is excellent.)
You mean the stripped wallpaper? I've been hearing that a lot lol. I could tone it down with a diffrent type with less pattern in it. Mark have you updated? I'm assuming your rendering with hair turned off? I don't see any of the hay material around the room.

I like the idea as well.
While working on Act1 Seq 2, I imagined that there should be some workers in scafoldings buffing the castle in the background. It does not make sense that the castle would stay so clean. I know we are in a fantasy land but I thought those buffer characters could make nice side stories.
It would also bring a nice breath of life to the world. I know the main characters should be the center of attention but the background characters would give it that extra *umph*.

I own 2 roosters (actually my girlfriend). The knees are bending the wrong way. Also when a rooster crows it pulls it's wings back straight, pokes it's chest, pulls it's head back and up and cawls. It beats it's wings after the crow. They will sometimes beat there wings while crowing but usually only in the prersence of another rooster or a female. Just a few pointers.

I know tin-servant buffs him up for the "special occasion", but what about day to day buffing. Maybe the servant can't always buff him. How about a machine to do a quick job of things? Perhaps a small bit of elegant, uncomfortable, furniture (tin servants doing).
Al I'll just lay this one out myself. I'll whip up a proxy model this weekend so PFMark (who is doing the scene) will have something to work with).

I know it was posted a while back about the Tinman sleeping. Was it ever decided to drop that part and if so what should his chambers look like? Being king I would suppose it will be grand with lots of space to move about. I checked the wiki and could find no refrence drawings to work off. Who does the refences? I will work on this along side cleaning up and polishing the Scarecrow's room.

Your butthead node is definitly better than my own. I'll have to tweak a bit.
Update: Skeleton with weighted cps, smartskin, and fanbones complete. Facial rig installed with basic phenomes completed. Testing for facial animations in progress. I'll post some screen shots soon.

The version on svn is definitly the final version. Sorry about all the updates (got a little carries away). I'll start posting all my modifications here before updating. Anyway, I'm working on the blanket right now and trying to get the movement and look correct. I'll post my results here. Mark as soon as I get something that works I'll pass it along to you.

It looks nice. A tip regarding the texturing of the bed. Like it is now I believe you grouped the bed as one piece and added the material? that causes the material to repeat over the boards like if the bed was carved out of one piece of wood. You should try to make several groups containing different boards, and the apply the material, that will make the boards look more unique to each other. Also, on the upright boards you should rotate the material 90 degrees so that the "fiberstructure" of the wood follows the long side.
working on that now. I took the bedside table and did that. Been working with the hay material to get a nice look for little patches of hay laying about.

I do have advanced settings on. Is it in the plugins at the bottom? Or is that for general lighting?

Me and Mark have been working on this setup for a couple weeks Al. So far what he has looks really good. Do we have anyone working on the blanket for his bed? I've been experimenting with cloth and hair for a while now and would be willing to give it a go if you want.

I've been toying with hair and I don't see a SHADERS = "ON" anywhere in my render settings? Am I overlooking something?
-
Updated the set today. I've toned down a lot of the bright colors so it doesn't distract the audience from Scarecrow, but still retains that lived in look. I also dirted up alot of the textures to make it more used feeling. Al if you could take a peek at it and gimme some feedback it'd be most appreciated. I feel it's close, if it's not already, close to completion.

It's been almost five years since I started using AM (before I use 3ds and maya). I haven't really looked in the book since then but I'd really like one of those certificates. I guess I'll start from the beginning and work my way through.

Wondering if you'll get to the animation bit? Don't worry, I've been using animation master for 5 years and have managed to animate 5, maybe 10 seconds worth of footage. I spend more time modeling, rigging and texturing than anything. I like animating and can, I just prefer the others.

Okay, settings:
I set the thickness of the hair to 0.02' (I work in feet)
Set the surface properties add a specular highlight, Size set to 45, Intensity 15
Diffuse Shader Muhair
Add a second emitter with a darker shade with the settings about 10 below also using the Muhair shader. The thickness of the hair and the second emitter is really what gives your hair a good look. I'm sure another emitter or two would help give the hair more body and layers. I'll experiment a bit more and post details.

That's about as close as beavis is going to get. I'm really just using it as a dummy for hair testing. I actually have a fully rigged beavis and butthead but they don't animate well because of the unusual shapes.

Everyone is correct. Flip your normals.

I too have been playing with hair and have learned a great deal. I've been using my butthead model to experiment. To see my findings check this link. I'll post settings a little later.

I simply allowed it to go ahead. It doesn't redownload, it just gets revisions. I got scared for nothing.

Simple is sometimes better. I like the look. It's got that clay character look.

Nevermind. Figured it out.

Unfortunate events mean I am leaving my job. As it is the only place I have access to the internet I will no longer be posting to the forums nor will I be involved in TWO anymore. I can't afford internet at my residence and I have no idea where I will go from here. I thank you for giving me the oppurtunity to be involved and I hope the bedroom set is used in your final production. I will miss you all. Good bye.![:(](https://www.hash.com/forums/uploads/emoticons/minecraft_sad.png)
