  1. Hey folks

    Thanks for all the help.

I tried everything all of you suggested. The video was made before your suggestions. It still didnt work. I flipped over to the mac side and everything works effortlessly. I am hoping that when I go back to the PC vista side everything will work fine. Which would mean it just took a reboot to correct the problem.

If thats the case I broke my golden rule.

"When in doubt reboot it out."

  2. Error when editing CP Weights Manually.

Computing cp weights using bone falloff works fine but when ever I try to edit them manually I get these errors and notice my 4arm bone comes up twice. Any Ideas?

  3. any hints of what it should appears as...pretty broad description

Anything that looks cool will do. I would like to come up with something that looks like the spheres in "when the earth stood still" but I am under time constraints.

Layered movement inside the sphere would be nice. Almost like swirl's of multi level multi depth liquides.

  4. I dont think that Steffen has anything against it, but please make sure to ask people before downloading something from their websites and uploading it somewhere else...

That is just not too polite... anyway: Thanks for the tut.

    Woops

You are correct. I was not thinking.

  5. Thanks for the tutorial, I enjoyd it (eventhough I already have the 3D mouse, and have used it for a while).

Thanks for the kind words guys. Do you have the same issues I have with the jitter when you turn the speed to low then panning the camera?

Can you create a Video Tutorial of your Famouse alien head? Not the modeling part. For me it would be helpful if you started the tut with the head modeled and go from there. Please include the SSS setup and AM paint. Just go through the motions in the tutorial and when ever you do something or change a setting or hit a short cut key just say what you are doing. Constantly Narrate everything you are doing as you do it. If you happen to know a little bit more about the options and settings maybe go into a little more detail and illustrate the variations. I would also like to see a tut on The caustics settings and options for the Apple.

I will contact Hash and purchase AM 15 web subscription if thats OK with you. In fact I will Purchase AM 15 web for anyone who creates a comprehensive video tutorial. I only ask that you contact me personally first jason@jasonhampton.us

  7. Not trying to slam anyone or ruffle feathers. I sometimes forget that anything said on a forum is said with a megaphone.

But there is truth to my statement.

Zaryin, you are a master at SSS and AM paint, I have offered to pay you for video tutorials regarding those subjects. My intensions were not for resale. I would donate the tutorials to the community.

Agep is a master of modeling, surfacing, rendering IBL and HDRI.

Heyvern Is a master of Newton Dynamics, modeling, and animating among other things

John Bigboote does great professional work as well.

I shouldn't name any names because the list goes on and on and I don't want to hurt anyones feelings. So if I didn't list your name please don't be offended. Thank you to those who do contribute.

In my opinion there is a lack of in context tutorials regarding

SSS, AM paint, IBL, HDRI, and Newton Dynamics.

Sure you can spend countless hours tracking down a useful thread of info here and there but that is such an inefficient way to go.

I am going to take on the challenge of creating a well rounded complete set of tutorials for IBL and HDRI rendering. I have spent at least 16 hours so far researching on the forums about these subjects. I appreciate all the help I have gotten.

What happened to the tech talks and the feature focus tutorials? They have not been updated in years.

I wish Hash would put some money behind creating Video Tutorials and turning his site into something like Lynda.com but for all the features in AM. I pay $250 per for a subscription to her video tutorials.

There is money to be made in Video tutorials and better than that it will advance AM because a product is only as good as the examples of what it can do.

The easier it is to learn the faster we can create cutting edge cg using AM.

I could be wrong on some of the points I have outlined and I am sure people will let me know of that, however there is truth to what I have said.
