Some more tweaking to try to get the face right and some AO and SSS renders (one day I will learn to UV map as well. After 13 years you'd think I would know by now). Not liking these render artifacts in SSS. Seems it wants to render out the Splines....... Edit: These artifacts seems to be related to render size. I upped the render size to HD and they disappeared! Still need to do more work around the eyes. Have increased the size of the eyeballs to 'flatten' their shape relative to the face. Will need to tweak the eyelids to give them more volume and to better position them over the new eyeball size.

Both technical issues reported on AM Reports..... Aside from the technical issues - thoughts about the model.... I'm thinking the chin is too narrow/sharp and the cheeks are a tad too full. Cheers

Hmmmmm - disappointing. Having saved the project, closed AM then reopened AM and the project - the Roto's will not display correctly - just blank white images - even after deleting and re-inserting the Roto. I had to remove the image completely from the Project, save, close AM, re-open AM then import the picture again and then re-add the roto. I imagine AM has a problem internally 'storing' the image (a jpeg). Any Mac owners know a solution (or an image format that AM can cope with?) AM 18a, iMac OSX 10.9.1. Hi David, Yes, there are I'm afraid issues with real-time graphics on Macs in v18 & v18a. I've found OpenGL to be a bit more reliable or using the integrated Intel graphics chip in my Mac. Fortunately this is only a real-time issue and doesn't affect final renders. Really?!? Mine doesn't (see below). 2 Grabs from the modeling window then the final render! AM 18 for OSX seems almost beyond use at present. I spend more time trying to fix things and restarting than actually doing anything! Will try again after a few more releases.... Cheers

Yes - I found some better solutions by removing some geometry. I have to be very careful using Hooks. 18a in OSX seems to have a real problem when trying to remove hooks (ie AM crashes). When selecting the hook, AM is highlighing the Hook and the nearest CP. The only way I have found to remove a hook without AM crashing is to add a CP to the Hooked Spline, remove the spline behind the CP (ie leave the hook 'dangling') then delete that 'dangling' CP. This removes the spline without touching the Hook! Cheers

Thanks Robert - had to "carefully" remove the 5 pointer a CP at a time (and Save) before AM stopped crashing - have the model back. By carefully I mean I had to remove the CP's in the right order - that took just a few attempts! But I do long for a 'smooth' brush (having been knee deep in other apps one gets used to certain things ) I think I will have to revisit my topology to see if I can get AM to naturaly smooth out the bumps! Ah well - thats the end of that model. Somehow I have a hook attached to the side of a 5 point patch. Any attempt to edit any of the patches around it (or the 5 point patch itself) crashes AM to the desktop - so the model she appears to be kaput Cheers

Next image update with some splinage. Please let me know if you see issues (I know I have a 3 point patch at the outer corner of her eye - still trying to figure out what to do there....)

I'm trying this myself but the AM splines are not converting well from the Poly mesh quads. On one leg, instead of parallel slines I get a continuous spiral spline Might see if I can find a way to reduce the mesh count even further without compromising too much detail... I love sculpting models now Cheers

With or without Mirror mode on it still works just fine for me (18a on OSX Maverick) Cheers

Ahhh - running coherance seems to have been the issue as Windows can access 2 Desktops - OSX's and Windows (which is in a different place....). It worked from the Windows Desktop folder only. Cheers David

He can, but not without the machine ID which requires the running of rlmhostid.exe! Cheers

I'd also like to point out that rlmhostid.exe does not run in the Parallels installed version of Windows 8 (it states that it is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.) so I don't appear to have the ability to transfer my license/activation codes either? Cheers

I think I know the answer but I am running a MacBook Pro with Parallels and running OSX Maverick and Windows 8. I already have AM installed and running in OSX so do I need to buy a activation code if running the AM in Windows on this laptop? Cheers

On my new MacBook Pro Laptop v18 2:15 MacBook Pro 2.6 ghz Intel i7 RAM 16gb 1600mhz DDR3 OSX Maverick 10.9.1 NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2gb RAM 1Tb SSD PS - I have Parallels and Win 8 also running on this MacBook - not sure how many resources OSX has access to with Parallels installed! Note that this test was not run in Windows but in OSX.

OK, just tried to install v18 on my MacBook Pro (OSX 10.9.1) and get the error message; AM.mpkg can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer. Cheers

A Targus USB Numeric Keypad does the trick - just plug it in and it works just fine

Has anyone worked out how to access the numeric keypad keys on a Surface Pro 2? I can get the on screen keyboard to display but the 'number pad' is simply the number keys and not the numeric keypad keys..... Cheers David

Version 17 works just fine but v18 displays nothing is any view - I tried Open GL and Open GL3 but nothing shows in any of the windows (model/chor etc). So what am I doing wrong? Cheers

I'm disappointed with Apple rather than Hash..... Install of the Maverick upgrade has broken a lot of my installed applications.... I'm back to using Windows. Cheers
