  1. Thanks Rodney, I gave her a new body this time (the last own was borrowed from Alan Desroches 'Nafta' model). I also resurrected my Leelu head model (see below) and ooops - forgot to fix her top lip. I might get around to it this time :-) Cheers

  4. LOL - yes her crotch area is quite long (the roto was even longer) but I think thats because the pants aren't hipsters - they go all the way up to her waste. Plus she is of comic model proportions rather than normal proportions. Cheers
  5. Are there any good/fast riggers out there (TSM1 or TSM2 equivalent) who would be willing to rig this model for me. You can keep the model as payment (It will still be my model but you can you it as if it were one of the Hash CD models) If you don't think the model is worth it please let me know (I do have great difficulty in judging the 'quality' of my own work) Cheers

Well I wipped up a quick model today in preparation for the December Image contest (shame I can't rig or shade the model as quickly as I can model them ) Take a look and let me know what you think. I'd really love some advice on how to achieve that typical comic book shine and reflectance for the outfit without going toon.   9. Great head Ed.... How long did it take you to render those images? I've tried to render it at 320x240 in v11 and it's been over 20 minutes and still stuck at 90%! (I'm running a P4 3.4ghz with 512mb RAM) Cheers

Hey I am certainly no expert or anything (so take what I say with a grain of salt so to speak) but from a viewers perspective I thought that the pace of camera movement and animation was a little monotonous. Apart from a couple of camera stops, everything moved at the same slow pace, the same pace as the narrative. Just to be really picky, the moon and earth are way out of scale (based on orbital distance), both needed to have a much higher contrast light (the only thing that lights us is the sun) and the, I assume, orbitating station needs to be much closer to the earth (or perhaps you could have placed it in orbit around the moon so you had a good long shot of the earth). You've placed it at what appears to be one of the Lagrange points (ignoring scale) but most viewers will not understand this. I really did like the way you ignited the engines and would love to learn more about how you did this. Cheers

  13. Only my second animation ever that wasn't a cycle of some type. Remember I'm just a novice but would love any constructive comment. Its a 1.8mb mpeg-1 file. Due to problems I had animating this model (major problems with the rig with unwanted bone rotation and oddball balance bone shifting) I won't be trying to fix the animation. I might try using the original model (circa 2000) that was working flawlessly in v9.5 next time. I would have hosted it on my own web page but I can't seem to upload anything larger than 650k so my appologies ahead of time for hosting it on tripod. The post title acurately expresses my current mood in attempting to post this animation for viewing :-) Cheers

  16. DL, WOW......... Your layput, lighting and effect is great and something I would like to be able to emulate in my own short. Any chance you can give us some pointers (not after the undersea effect - just the soft painterly look) Cheers
  17. Well I first started out with AM back in '99 and dropped it for a new hobby (Astronomy) in 2002. Now I'm back and have just moved from v9.5 to v11 (wow - what a difference) and am working on a short of a very short story written by a collegue at work. Anyway, I am using Alan Desroches (Spelling??) models from his Archive CD's so I do not claim the modelling :-) The link provides access to a couple of tests - Hopping (it will be a hopscotch thing when completed) and a walk cycle and I would love some feedback (I am very much the novice so don't hold back - I need to learn) http://users.bigpond.com/higginsdj/my_3d.htm Cheers
