no problem... i need to get good karma however i can. ' ' )

if you're still having this problem, what kind of notebook is it?
which version of a:m are you using?
-jon
-
you never indicated that you installed the latest video driver.
another idea: a:m loves targas -- .tga files. you're image prolly isn't in that format, so try that too.... after the video driver update.
with me, you'll just have to settle with helpful.

update your video driver.
if you have the latest update, then yes... your laptop sucks.

isn't anyone else concerned that david thinks colin's son looks like an alien?

congratulations on archiving your non-competitive goal! ' ' )

i can't judge how 'bad' my modeling is, but i like the overall appearance of my figures with porcelain applied to the main 'skin' group.
i particularly like the smoothing effect on their faces, but i don't apply the porcelain material to detailed areas like lips.
try it, you might like it. ' ' )

here are two things that help me:
1 remove any spline you don't desperately need. less splines = less lumps
2 the porcelain material is your friend, especially if you're scared of bias handles.

have you tried the 'make dragon' button?

creating known characters is a great way to learn modeling, but you've got your own characters and stories in there somewhere...
keep looking.
-jon

the larger issue is not how, but why?
there is no good answer to this second question.
let go of the triangles, and learn to model the a:m way.

a good spokesmodel model, but shouldn't she be more orange? ' ' )

these images will look great to anyone who hasn't been up to their eyeballs in the project for over a year.
save the ocd for the actual modeling and animation.

she looks like an 80's b-movie queen. that's not a bad thing. ' ' )
looking good overall, but her shoulders need more volume. i'd start by lowering her armpits a bit.
otherwise, all she needs is a whip!

the useful, constructive part was the first point: everything you need is on the cd. libraries are just bookmarks, and aren't even necessary.
your lack of manners and misplaced sense of entitlement was my second point.
i helped you before i insulted you, so that makes it okay.
-jon
ps: the only people i haven't insulted are the ones i haven't talked to. it's part of my charm.
-
two things...
1. you don't need libraries set up to get to work. just open the files from the cd.
2. you're bitching to unpaid volunteers who're helping you with a program you don't own.

a great look!
i'd thicken the arms a bit, just so they're more visible. it depends on the background complexity, animation style, etc.
i don't see boondocks here, except for the fact that he's dark skinned.

brain: sorry, i can only handle one fake conservative: steven colbert
satyajit: i'm sure everyone will be happy to get rich from two, but that's only one goal.

oh, and 'another oz project' is also wrong. ' ' )
every time i look at bill shatner, i see james tiberius kirk.
don't kirk animation master. show some range.

the leader now is "do a short", which is misguided. a large group needs a large project.
a killer short is best made by one crazy, determined individual, or at the most three crazy determined individuals who will still end up hating each other by the end of the project.
a large group working on a small project would quickly implode, or produce a grey goo unworthy of drive space.

you don't think just voting for two will seem odd? suspicious?
game the system if you will, but follow the rules if you want to have your votes actually count.
of course, if everyone votes for their pet project, and four dogs... then the dogs will win.

symmetry is a crucial aspect of beauty, so other symmetries (radial, helical, whatever) are very risky.
diversion from symmetry altogether is the hallmark of our darkest nightmare creatures.
let's not go there.

better, perhaps... but less alien.
i think we can live with the compromise. ' ' )

i love the lips and feet!
it'll be interesting to see her move!

since you posted her in the wip section, here's a very subtle annoyance with an otherwise excellent model:
her shoulders, forearms, and wrists seem thick in comparison to her neck and torso.
is this a stylistic decision? i really don't think anyone who isn't ocd would mention this. ' ' )
overall, it's an excellent result!
