so the short answer is forget poser meshes and start splining, right? ' ' )

jigglestereo doesn't depend on funky 50's technology.
there's always freeviewing or lenticular stereography.
...they're just not as jiggly.

it's like tithing.
god loves you no matter what, but it's your duty to pony up to the church, or you won't get the best lounge chairs on the heavenly cabana.

swfobject is the best solution for this issue, and it's more browser compatible too.

edit: this is a way of implementing flash on a site, not something a site visitor can use

rav, a teardrop is a deformed sphere. in this context, they would form at the end of the slobber trails. that's all.
the mouth still has sharp edges, which run counter to the sleek, organic look of the creature.
i can't find a good collection of geiger's work, but you should take a look at his art. he's the designer of the original 'alien' creature.

i love the toon lines, but you could always try a 2 or 3 color toon shader for a more smoother look.

it wasn't me this time.

taper: the tail seems too thick towards the end.
lighting: the critters were usually seen in low light.
slobber: for stills, shiny transparent strands and teardrops should do.

I imagine HASH retains any rights (if there is any implied) to whats contributed. As far as modifying for $$, thats almost a gray area of what modify means?
the contributors retain full rights to their works, but have granted unrestricted use of their works, except where they've limited the use of their works in the file's notes section.
so, you could pay anyone to do anything you want to those unrestricted contributions, but you'd have to negotiate with the creator for additional rights for those limited-rights creations.
is that lawyer enough for ya? ' ' )

there were only two alien movies: alien and aliens.... the others were just cruel hoaxes.
your queen's body seems great, but that tail should be more tapered towards the end.
your biggest challenge lies ahead: in the films, the lighting (or lack thereof) greatly contributed to the menace of the creatures.
and, of course, lots of slobber.

wolfram: fair enough... it would be helpful to make the distinctions easier to see.
... and don't be offended. i'm mean to everyone. ' ' )

mr wok,
i suspect that when the time comes to produce your first commercial work, it will be uniquely your own, inspired in part by -- but not taken from -- community contributions.
so, no worries.

you might just have to start one!
otherwise, you ask nicely. ' ' )

you've been making great progress!
i'll cast another vote for wider upper torso. the hips are wider than average, but i'm kinda liking 'em anyway.
so many comic artists have abused the popular comic characters to the point where there is no 'one' authoritative look for them.... so go with the flow!

i like the new model... there's a lot more detail now!
the profile has too many straight (or near straight) lines, however, that give her a boxy feel.
unless that's what you're going for, they need some tweaking.
nevertheless... much better!

i just broke the stills gallery again. ' ' )
i uploaded an image that won't display without entering in a password i don't have.
i used the same name as a file i uploaded a year or so ago... was there a file name conflict?
i changed the name, and it displays fine, so please delete the first freaky upload.
thanks,

i'm having a similiar problem with my personal photo.
i uploaded one version early yesterday, and it resists updates. i can delete it, but when i upload a new image, the older one returns.

i am an alien expert, having watched the first two movies 'till my eyes bled. ' ' )
the worker/drone featured prominently in the first two movies were tall, skinny guys in costume, so you might consider making the lower body more structurally human.
i like all the varieties you've developed!

thanks for the love, trace. ' ' )
i'll be using sophie with ha:mr in the near future, so i sure hope she plays well in later versions.

thanks for you comments! if you look carefully at the final image, she really does have knees.. her right rear knee is partially visible directly above her foot.
[edit] for her forelegs, technically she's missing the mid-foot articulation that i gave to her rear legs.. but i might lengthen her forepaws a bit and add it... one day.
in the standing pose, her knees not visible at all, just like the chibi rei images you've uploaded.
chibi was the goal, but i'm happy with the results, even if they were only about half way to chibidom.
thanks again!

will: fair use is a copyright exception, but usage of logos is a trademark issue.
dustin: technically, you'd be opening yourself up to litigation if your model was used in a way that ups could argue misrepresents or damages their brand.
parody is the usual loophole here, but since you can't know how the model will be used, you can't rely on parody applying.

the motion blur doesn't work for me, but it's an all around great piece!

i'll haven't started the bird of prey, but i'll certainly have it completed by the end of the year, hopefully much sooner.
you've made great progress!

my first impression is you've created "internal patches", which happens when you extrude a surface and create a legal four-point patch "inside" your model.
if that's the case, you can make them all one continuous spline, or not link them in a loop, and the problem will vanish.
a hollow wireframe shot would help with the diagnosis.

New work

the male character looks evil mostly due to the v-shaped brows.
i wouldn't worry about the boondocks similarities. that show has a very anime feel that your models do not.
great work!
