i'm trying to learn the v13s....
1. can you scale a bone along with it's cp's when modeling?
2. how do i numerically and absolutely change the position of a cp when modeling? i thought there was a little triangle that would call up a box with the xyz coords, but i can't find that anymo.
everyone old is new again....

you've done a great job!
in comparison to the photos: your model's face needs a fuller lower face and jaw, as seen from angles other than the front.
i can't quite pin in down, but i see the biggest difference in your highly defined rear jaw bone, and the photos smoother, unseen jawbone.
sorry i can't be more detailed in my unsolicited nag. ' ' )

tvs and other displays pretty much always cast their images on their surface, so there's no refraction to speak of.
why don't just just curve the surface of the display area?
if you really want to use refraction, then you'll need a transparent surface with the refraction setting -- the 'lens' -- with the display contents behind it.

do you have a profile and/or 3/4 shot of this woman?
it's going to be difficult to be very accurate without a second rotoscope.

i can't remember if marshal has been going to origins and/or gencon.. so i thought i'd ask.
i'm planning on getting some animation:master work up in the origins art gallery, but gencon will be darkly-free.
i'm sure they're all broken up about it.

i like the style!
it'll be a challenge to make his eyes readable, due to his vertically squashed head, but expressive animation will compensate.
keep us posted!

that's completely pointless, and totally awesome.
in short, a first-rate art project.

are all of your normals outward-facing?
that doesn't look like the standard normals glitch, but it's worth a quick check.
-jon

do you really need the markings on the horizontal surfaces?
if the image only resolves at a distance, you can save yourself a good deal of work by only marking the forward-facing area of the steps.
it is a cool idea. ' ' )

... then there's that third option: annoying martin. ' ' )

either there's been a very specific server error or you've violated one or more of the forum's guidelines.
i'm guessing it's the second one. ' ' )

i agree that a notice would be nice, but it's prolly overkill.
every disappeared post usually breaks either the first or second catholic/lutheran commandments:
-
put no other 3d applications before animation:master
-
do not take the name of animation:master in vain
anyone with a basic understanding of the rules prolly knows they're at least bending them.

you've got way too many vertical splines for what you're trying to do.
the fewer control points, the smoother the surface.
it's also pretty hard to see whats happening there on the brow, since the eyebrow is in the way. are those all four-point patches in that area?
-jon

face forward = asian. ' ' ) that's not necessarily a bad thing.
how realistic are you working for? my first impression is that you could loose half of those splines, and perhaps his eyes are too close together.
overall, a great wip!

when we give hash, inc. our money, we're not buying a cd... we're buying a license to use the product.
the fact that your friend is still using his license means it wasn't even implicitly transferred... so you never had the legal right to use it.
that being said, the only folks who have opinions that matter work for hash, inc.

i can't think of anything here that's 'wrong'.
she looks great!
-jon

looks pretty good!
the upper pecs ('man-boobies' for some) seem too planar, but it could work stylistically... if that aspect was mirrored in other ways throughout the model.
i like the art-deco feel.

how are you containing the plasma... with a magnetic field, i hope.

so you spent a whole day, and aren't totally happy with the results? ' ' )
my contribution to the cause was this lovely pair. http://www.hash.com/stills/displayimage.php?pos=-991
they can be found in the first a:m extras disc... not sure how you get one.
they represent about 8 years of working with the program, and i'm not quite happy with 'em either.

her torso seems more meaty than her lower body, and i'd speculate that you've spent more time on her upper half.
flesh her out below the belt and you can work on giving the poor thing a head!

ps: vagina.

this means my work will be the only representation of animation: master's capabilities at the show?
if you can live with that, then so can i. ' ' )
