  1. Lovin' the progress. I hope to find my way there someday with a character or two.
  2. Dude!!! This car is awesome. I'm sure everyone else is enjoying your posts as much as I am. I like seeing the progress you are making on this. Thanks for posting updates as you go along. I think this thread should be saved for future reference for anyone wanting to model a car. Can't wait to see it moving down the road.

    Hyperspace

I agree. There seems to be a need for some stretching of space or something to give it that extreme feeling of motion through hyperspace.

    Kitchen

Okay, I've added some items to my kitchen. This is just a test to see how some of the items look with real surroundings. It's hard to judge reflectivity & transparency in the modeling screen when you have a plain background and nothing to reflect off of. So here it is.
  5. That's too bad you didn't get this done in time for the contest, it would've had my vote. Pretty good. That hair sure does add to the movement. Kinda helps exhagerate some of the minor movements.
  6. Somebody's in a hurry. Good job. What purpose is this animation for? A client, or just for practice?

    Hyperspace

I agree with Nerrazzi. I would switch from the side shot to behind the ship and to the side some. A nice angle of it going into hyperspace. Maybe from in front if that would get the desired effect. As is, it sort of looks like a sidescrolling nintendo game.

    Wise Guy

They look like real losers. Since that's what you're shooting for, good job!!! The texturing to the faces adds quite a bit. Keeps 'em from looking too plastic (i guess that's the word I'm looking for). Good job. Lookin' forward to seein' them in action.

The cereal and milk are coming. It's slow going right now. Getting maybe 3 to 5 models done a week. I plan on having that counter pretty cluttered. I did just wing the measurements. Most everything is just estimated right now. Actually a few things I did measure. Everything else is just eyeballed. BTW, I did enjoy your pouring of cereal into a bowl with sprites a while back. I was trying to get macaroni into a bowl. It would work good at first, then I would add more noodles and everything just fell through the bowl. I gave up for the time.
  10. Ewwwwww, get him some tweezers for that ear hair!!! Other than that, pretty good. Do you intend for his hair to stick out straight, or is there some tweaking that can be done to get it to relax some?

That sounds like a great idea. Thanks. And if it'll save render time, I'm all for that as well.
  12. Looks pretty sharp. Nice lighting. Nice bumping. I can't think of anything to change.

Isn't that so nice about 3D programs, is that you can take shortcuts and not model the other half of an object. Although, the more detailed the animation, the more that has to be done. I was looking forward to not having to model the other half of my kitchen, but then I remembered I have a few reflective items, such as a toaster, that will reflect behind the camera. I think it would probably look funny if it reflected black space, rather than a real kitchen. BTW, I did notice the perfect placement of your fries. I was unsure though as to how much effort that took to get them like that. I had no idea. Good job.
  14. If I have one complaint about your animation, it's that I can't find one (a complaint that is). It's smooth, fluid, uncluttered and inspiring. Keep up the good work and we all hope to see more.
  15. Those are awesome. I can just imagine what all you could do with these and other variations. Good Work. Lance

I'm thinking of tooning the whole thing. I may have to play around a bit. Maybe post a few versions and see what everyone else thinks. Lance

    Walk cycle

The arms and legs look pretty good. Fluid. Perhaps a sway in the hips and head. Or maybe just the hips and the head will follow. Anyway, the body needs to move from side to side a little. Hope that helps.

Yeah it looks too perfect don't it? I may have to spend a day just trying to get those glass jars to look normal. BTW, I love your refrigerator picture. Nice objects and placements. I may have to eyeball that again to get some more prop ideas. I don't want my counters to be bare at all. It needs to be cluttered. Lance

Good points. I'll definitely keep that into consideration. The intended animation will be quite cartoonish, I'm not sure yet if I want to toon render it or not. I guess I'll have to play with that when the time comes. Lance

Here's my first post to this forum. Thought I would share with all. I've still got a long ways to go. More items to create and then my characters. I've got one created, but I think he needs to be re-done. We'll see. My WIP page Lance
