  1. Actually, the idea here was that my client wanted to show that different designs were possible and something bold was necessary. I don't have the whole story, but my guess is that he needs to convince the clients that there are other possibilities. I didn't have any other reference materials except for some rough dimensions. I was given a lot of creative freedom too...in fact, all of it. My client loved the red tiles and I went with a small sink because there wasn't enough real estate for a double sink. I was told at the beginning not to worry about budget or anything like that, so I just went with whatever felt right. Thanks for the comments! E
  2. Here is a quick job I did for a client who is going to propose some changes to a rather bland kitchen. I actually did a lot more than they wanted since it was supposed to be just a "sketch", but I think it was worth it. Comments welcome. Eugene
  3. Hi All, Some time ago, I could have sworn there was a Generic Woman Model that possibly entity had put up. I have the Generic Man model, but I just can't find the Woman model. Can anyone help me out? Thanks, Eugene
  4. Hey John, Congratulations on your sons's wedding! Eugene
  5. I saw that too and thought it was just great!! The more exposure for AM the better for us all! Excellent! Eugene
  6. Simple test...render using VGA resolution and an aspect ratio of 1 (default). Then post images... E
  7. Ciao Claudio...come stai? I think once you overcome the Polygonal thinking in Max, you will wonder why you didn't get started earlier with AM. The reason I say this is that AM is very fast when you want to put together a quick animation or small video clip. All the tools are there for your animation needs and the workflow is seemless because it is all incorporated into one package. You don't need to purchase an extra plugin or import from other software...it's all there for you. Basically for the independant artist, AM beats all other major 3D software, hands down. One word of caution and that is that if you are looking to use your Max models in AM, it just doesn't work that well. Cheers, Eugene
  8. Files are below... Cheers, Eugene Missile.zip
  9. Here is a project file and VERY quick model to show that you can always model when you don't have a more elegant way to figure something out. From what I recall, shock waves decay out of the exhaust and that's why you get that's the bright diamond pattern. Set glow, roughness and transparency. Cheers, Eugene and the project file. E
  10. You might want to ask Vincenzo Tanassi if he knows anything about this since he is in Italy. Best of Luck, Eugene
  11. Lucine, Can you do a screen capture of what you mean and post on the forum...I might be able to help if I understand your problem. Regards, Eugene
  12. John, You forgot to count from 10 to 1 to release everyone from your grasp! Cheers, Eugene
  13. Great Characters! I like the way you've over-exaggerated the features. Looking forward to some Animations... Eugene
  14. I am not sure if this is what you mean, but in the example below I changed the keylight and camera background color. So, at 1 second I keyed the keylight to be a 0 intensity value and the camera background was black. The Rim light stays constant. Cheers, Eugene Stage.mov
  15. These are the ones you need to look for on the Video Tuts... Exercise 10: "FW-190 Figher" Exercise 11: "Giraffe" Best of Luck, Eugene
  16. Dude, C'mon...there's this website called HASH...you might have heard of it?....seek and you shall find. You will need the V12 CD to run it though....it will not run with the V11.1 CD. Eugene
  17. I usually just render animations to a .mov file and then when Quicktime is open you can simply scroll to whatever frame you want and choose EDIT, COPY. Then simply paste into Photoshop, Irfanview or any photo/paint program and save as a jpg. I guess you never answered my question about what version you were using? V12 is downloadable, but you need the right CD to launch the program. Cheers, Eugene
  18. I am not sure what you are asking...? If you are trying to render, you won't have the jpg option unless you have version 12. E
  19. Take small steps... Go to the Animation Master site and watch the Tutorials! They are excellent. Start with modeling and then work your way up. You must at least try the tutorials in the Art of Animation Master. The first thing you need to understand is how splines work...start with that. Learn what splines are, how to make a patch, and then start lathing simple splines and so forth. This is 3D man!!...this isn't going to happen overnight. But, you'll be amazed at two things 1. How much you are going to learn in the next month. 2. How little you know even after years of doing 3D. Oh another thing...make sure you research, study and try something first before you ask questions. Use the forum!! Best of luck, Eugene
  20. I think the answer to your question is YES...you can build a saber that is realistic, but like anything in 3D, it gets exponentially harder to get closer to "reality". I worked this up in about 1/2 hr (mostly playing with setting for glow. Beam of lightsaber is just a spline "rendered as lines" with glow. Droid is from CD. Cheers, Eugene [attachmentid=14099]
  21. John, It would almost appear to me that the forefront appears semi-real and the background more toon. I really like it! Eugene
  22. The Logo is cool, but can you try to brighten it up a bit and perhaps add some Ambience to the letters so they stand out? I think the current lighting setup has it partially in the dark. Cheers, Eugene
  23. Very odd as to what happened, but the final render is great! Thanks for offering it up. Eugene
  24. There is a small tutorial I did some time ago... http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10245&hl= Have a look to see if this is what you need. Regards, Eugene
