  1. Thanks Yves, I will try that. I guess all that time was not a total loss since I did explore many other options and learn more about the program. Thanks again. I'll let you know how it comes out. JIM
  2. OK, everyone. I have been on this for days now and can't quite seem to get it right. I've searched the posts so that I am not duplicating a previously discussed post issue, but I can't quite find what I'm looking for. I want to create a highly polished surface looking like gold, but the only thing that it will be reflecting is the light from a single stage light, no other objects. I have the surface reflectivity, blend, and filter all set to 100%. I have also tried some polished looking materials. I have tried using the light as klieg, sun, and bulb, different intensities, different positions, but I can't get the light to bounce back into the camera with a slight "flash" look to it. I am sure that this is something simple in the settings, but this is my first try at reflecting JUST a single stage light so I am at a loss. Your help is appreciated. JIM
  3. THANK YOU everyone for your responses and effort. The perspective mode was off already. The following shows the different renders. The VGA at 1 did render as viewed. The D-1 NTSC renders fatter at the .9 . The D-1 NTSC renders as viewed at 1. This leaves two questions: 1) Why did the previous models not render fatter before using the .9 setting? 2) Will the 1 setting in the D-1 NTSC decrease the output quality at all? Thanks, JIM
  4. Well, I went and tested a completely new model, just a primitive basic shape. Apparently, the problem is universal at this point. I am using a different computer now for several months, but did not notice this problem before. Below is a picture of two different renders. When I render using the Render Animation Preview option, (shown on the right) it renders fine. When I Render To File, (shown on left) it renders fatter. When rendering I am using the D1-NTSC option. I have used this option before with fine results. Input is encouraged. Thanks, JIM
  5. Thanks for the input people. I don't know what the problem is, but it is NOT a problem with every other project that I have, so it is isolated to this one. Yes, it renders this way in chor or model. I am not sure about the square pixels thing. I do not know where to find that setting. But I use the same settings I always have and do not have this problem with other models. When I copy the head and paste it into another project or its own model, the same results happen. Seems that I always find the strange gliches. If anyone has any other input, let me know. Thanks, JIM
  6. I have tried everything, but for some reason, my model's head looks fine in the modeling window, but when I render, it shows noticably fatter. This is the first time I have had a project do this. I have supplied an image to show the comparison. The image on the left is the rendered version, the image on the right is from the modeling window. Image renders fatter in the chor as well. Any suggestions?
  7. Quoting the help files: The phoneme translation supports the following higher level phoneme set. You can make poses for any or all of these phonemes if you want more accurate lip shapes. I had assumed that all I had to do was to name my pose using this set and it would work in AM like the Preston set, but perhaps I misunderstood the help file. Thanks for your response Rodney. JIM
  8. Ok, everyone, I have tried the help files and searching the online forum, but can't locate this one. I have used the Preston set quite successfully, but now want to try the higher set. I set up the aa and the ar, but when typing in a dope sheet, "How are you", the "are" is translated using the Preston set instead. Can someone help me with this?
