  1. I just spent the last several days making the dust for the left leg in a five step walk. Is there anyway to copy the keyframes from the left leg to the right? I know I have to off-set the start and change the x,y,z starting co-ordinates, but that my only take several hours not several days.
  2. In the rendering setup window trying opening the triangle, then click on Set. It should open up all the codes available. If you have FCP, you might try the 4.2.2 codec, or a PRO50. If you scroll down this topic, http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=39604 it should show you what I am talking about.
  3. I am wondering if I need to have the dust volumetric constrained to each foot bone. I am trying to get it to bloom when the foot strikes but then remains in place while the foot moves away. But the bone that I am translating moves all over the place even though the only direction that should move is in the z axis. But some places it moves up the y-axis (or down.) I have the x and y axis set to 0 and hold, so that the only thing that moves is in the z-axis. But something keeps messing me up. So I go back to my original question - do I have to constrain the dust to the foot?
  4. Ok, I am still somewhat confused by the options but you say that default = spline, which in most cases should be fine. I am having somewhat of an issue with v16rc2 but I haven't quite sorted it out yet.
  5. Dear Homeslice. I have that tutorial, but I don't remember if it mentioned any specific Turbulence option. I will look again.
  6. Where does A:M set the default value for Channel Interpolation? In the Channel CP Settings dialog box it lists Default, linear, etc.
  7. There are several options for "Add Turbulence", they all look like mathematical names. Do the all do the relatively the same thing, or is one better than the others?
  8. I know this subject (copying frames) has been covered before (again and again) but I did not see anything about restricting what keys are copied. I am creating dust for my BattleMech and after I do it once for the first step I would like to copy just the keys attached to the dust object. Does hi-lighting the object in the timeline restrict what is copied?
  9. Ok I will go with the sphere. Yes, I was doing it like the exercise in TA0A:M. When you say add "Noise", is this different than "Add Turbulence"? Does Distortion Mode work on Volumetrics? Or will I have to use "Scale" under "Transform"?
  10. Here are two short animations of my BattleMech. This is an 85 ton machine so it should kick up a lot of dust. But I am having trouble deciding which is best or how I can improve them. Any help would be appreciated. Cone: Side_View_Dust_v3_cone.mov Sphere: Side_View_Dust_v4_sphere.mov Thanks.
  11. Hi Nancy, Can you point me in the direction of the "Roberts video." I did a search on rotoscope but jumped out at me. And I believe there are several Roberts. Thanks.
  12. Thank you Nancy. I am so new to A:M that I don't know all the "ins and outs" yet. At the present time I am not trying to add audio, but perhaps sometime in the future. This whole topic was about seeing different backgrounds when I rendered. It came down to rendering out a sequence, not a movie. So I used the Netrender from v16 to create the sequence then brought it into A:M to render out to a movie. The "Save animation..." worked great! But it still begs the question of what happened to the rendering from the chor? Yes the tga is the first of the sequence. I am using v15 because of acknowledged issues with constraints in the Mac version of v16.
  13. I followed your instructions but here is what I get. First the opening TGA: Walking_Lower_Body_S0000.tga Now the movie: Warhawksequence.mov The two bear no resemblance to each other.
  14. Yes thank you I was able to find and change the setting.
  15. Walking_Lower_Body_S1.mov When I look at this short clip with QuicktimeX on my desktop all I see is the brown ground, black background, and green line around the model. Why it displays correctly when I view it on line is way beyond my simple understanding.
  16. HomeSlice, How do I set up Quicktime to render in the h264 codec. Nothing I can find in the render dialog box would allow me to do so.
  17. Why is the background to my choreography different when I render-to-file than when I am working with the choreography? This is my working screen. This is the rendered file. Walking_Lower_Body_F1.mov
  18. I finally got the cursor over the little "snow flake" and found delete. Thanks.
  19. I have tried deleting the two folders under User Properties to delete both poses. But the pose sliders keep showing up! How do I get rid of the sliders so I can make new ones?
  20. I created two relational poses (percentages) within one pose window to two different bones within the model. Both showed up under user properties. But when I apply them individually within a keyframe they seem to interfere with each other. When I set the right one to 100 the left one goes to some positive value (it is supposed to be zero) Think of toes on a foot. I want to squeeze them at some point in a walk. But when I set the right foot toes to 100, the left pose slider has moved also. Should I have created each percentage pose separately in a different pose window?
  21. I see how you have your setup. The PWS is at the bottom as opposed to the left-hand side. That way you don't have to open the Timeline window. Very neat.
  22. No, I think maybe rechecking the alignment helped. I notice in your videos that you have "All" for your Timeline. Is that just a windows thing?
  23. I was thinking about the upper leg bone, that is the one I think is twisting. I went back to the model and re-checked alignment. Then I re-checked again. Just to be safe, I re-checked it again. I then added the foot lift. Here it is: Walking_Lower_Body.mov Should we move this topic out of the Newbies form and into some other?
