    3ds file

I did a search for the extension 3ds but did not find any reference. Can this file be opened in A:M, or converted so it will open in A:M. If so, how?
  2. I can understand you might think this a strange question (because there is a simpler way - maybe) but if I were to create two separate boxes, then place one on top of the other and join the corner CPs, are there still two splines or now just one?
  3. Dear Wildcard - What are you using to draw your Mad Cat from? My goal in using A:M is to model these wonderful machines. I am currently "practicing" on a War Hawk. Hopefully I can move on to others - but will probably avoid the humanoid ones. How did you do the designs on the side of the missile launchers? Are they splines or decals, or what?

    Hooks

Is is good (or bad) to use hooks?

    Hooks

Sometimes when I do this, connecting two splines with a third A:M creates a CP at both ends; and sometimes it doesn't. I do it the same way each time - start with a CP on one spline and cross to the other and press the tilde key, the the ESC key. How can I make sure that I get the result I want - a CP?

    Glass Dome

Any suggestions on how to make the dome? I have tried several times and I get creasing at the top. Thanks for the other help.
  7. How do I make a glass dome, like on an anniversary clock? Thanks.
  8. When an object is placed in a choreography, what controls (determines) where it is placed? Is it always placed at the center of the chor? Is it placed at the same coordinates as it was in say the model window? Thanks.
  9. As far as I can tell, pstoedit is just for Windows and ghostprint I think is a interpreter so that a postscript file can be printed on a non-postscript printer.
  10. Those are good suggestions - thanks. I also found that you can put a model (object) in the library, then recall it.
  11. Since I have 10.6.4 I have QT Pro v7 buried somewhere in my Utilities folder. Thanks.
  12. I tired Quicktime X - that doesn't seem to work. I tried "Play Animation" from A:M. I can only select one frame and that opens in Preview.
  13. I know that an object can be duplicated within a choreography. But is there a simple way to duplicate an object within the project? Thanks.
  14. I saw this wizard but no instructions on how to use it.
  15. Thanks everyone for your kind suggestions. I think I have a handle on this.
  16. Could this be an "opportunity" for Hash to break free of Adobe and go completely "open source?" Maybe A:M could accept .eps or .svg files from sources other than "just" Adobe. Just my thoughts.
  17. I see a "Translate to..." constraint but no "Rotate". Isn't Translate movement? How would I do as you suggest?
  18. Do I need to add another camera because isn't the default camera a child of the choreography?
  19. How would I draw a spiral pathway in the choreography window so that I could have a camera, or light, travel in a 360 degree circle while moving up (or down.) Thanks.
  20. Nancy, Do I have to do this for EVERY choreography? Doesn't setting the range property for the chor do this?
