  1. Not sure what you mean here are you saying loose the definition on the outside? Add more definition or lower the insertion point? Not sure which. I'll look at a muscle diagram and see if I can figure it out. Agreed.. I had this in mind already.. In fact i want to make his arms more hulk like with much bigger hands. also agreed.. I'll pull it out a little and also give him more of a hunch back. I was actually thinking that the bottoms werent long enough.. or maybe the middle.. If you look at actual animal legs the length of the lower leg veries greatly.. however the top in most is also virtually one piece instead of the two I have here. For sure the bones operate the same, but the muslculature around them tends to smooth it out to one smooth ham shap.. and these parts tend to be farely locked in the gate. I thought about giving him this kind of hip but I thought the more stylized dynamic shape made him more animal like. Agreed on the hooves.. I noticed that on render as well. the texture will probably change to become a little less saturated and more even with more subtle veins. I'll use a combiner to blend a face texture that doesnt have the charred parts so that its more readable. Thanks for the comments, and keep them coming. C
  2. Heres the beginnings of a Demon model I'm working on for a client. the Head will be radically different. It will be more based on a chaos beastman from Warhammer, but the body is just about there. I'd like critiques to help me make it better. The info I got on the superhero thread was invaluable and I'm hoping for more of the same here.   7. Hello Houston, we are go for liftoff. July 9th.. all systems are nominal. We'll meet at the same place unless I post otherwise.   13. Extrude a tube a bunch of times to create a pipe.. lots of cross sections. duplicate it a few times.. Line them us next to each other like a bundle.. Then Select them all and select the distort cage tool.. twirla and you have the beginning of a vine. Twist that around your cross and add thorns. C
  14. Jamagica, I'd make the Microphone metallic and very realistic. perhaps give it a metal head with holes in it. What about making the chord coming out of the mic a bunch of thorny vines that wrap around the cross. Make the Chross metal or ancient wood and make the spikes be some metaphor for HipHop or perceptions. Use perspective. Lots of it.. it will add allot to the visual. Perhaps the spikes could be like the gold "bling" that is common in HipHop today, but still bloody? Just throwing out ideas. I'm not in the demographic for sure, but you are playing with some powerfull icons, make sure the presentation holds up to the message and you won't go wrong. C
  15. The story line will be something like a Robinson Cruseo on Mars, but have a Road Runner twist to it. He will have a "Friday" character (his co-pilot) and his name his Yoric (all thats left of him will be a skull). The Alien will have many attempts to get off of Mars, and never suceed.. allways blaiming his ineptitude (he's more than a little crazy from the solitude) on his poor co-pilot Yoric (who is allready dead). Actually I thought about some weird delusional episodes where Yoric actually does sabotage the alien, but only in the alien's wild imaginings). C
  16. Yeah I might do a tutorial on it soon seven.. I'm in my slow period right now.. so things move at a glacial pace. Nah.. he loves being turned into all sorts of stuff. I just need to figure out some way to name this guy that has a play on Coopers name. C
  17. Doug, yes its all done with Magnet mode and the Lattice Tool. As far as poses working still.. it depends on the pose. For example.. if the eyelid blinks had allready been done. They wouldnt have held up if I'd done all of this in Model mode. But if you do it as a pose.. then it might. I'm still playing with it. The short answer is that some things will hold up and others will need to be tweeked. But its much faster than remodeling from scratch ;-) I'm still around.. just taking it easy in the summer. Expect to be sick of my incessant posting by November or December. C

  19. Much much much better!!!! I like him allot, but I agree with the add more rust comments. There are some great Symbiont textures for that (but the colors shift in version 12 for some reason). Looks great! Keep it up. C
  20. Something about the hat throws me off a little. It seems too "thick" like its 1 inch thick , but tin would be rolled and a little thinner I think. It might be the rounded bottom. Also how about tiltiing it to one side. Give him a little attitude. The head is great but it needs something to make the eyes pop more. The tin is too light to show some of the details. That might make it difficult to see some of his expression. this is of course my "buck and a quarter" oppinion. Great work! Keep it up. C
  21. yes.. its much easier. Not that I couldnt do it in the other mode with mirror mode.. but I like to do as little work as possible.. and when you are using magnet mode and mesh cages.. it becomes hard to work in mirror mode.. the center splines.. don't work the same.. so your cages and magnets are slightly offset.. this makes the mesh move in different ways.. and ruins the way mirror mode can work as far as creating other poses. I'm wondering if there was a way to just copy and paste points in a text editor to create the keyframes. C
  22. The trick with the pose idea.. is that I did mine in Halves and copy/flip/attached it. That would work in a pose. But it made it much easier to edit the mesh. Perhaps there is a way or a plugin that could past a mesh with the same points into a keyframe of a Pose and allow you to edit the mesh external to the pose. this would allow you to deconstruct and reconstruct the mesh... as long as the cp names stayed the same. C
  23. Sorry.. I've got two major modelling jobs I'm working on right now.. 1 major Programming job at work and another vacation in 2 weeks.. Looks like it might be a while before he moves. :-( but he will. I like him too much to leave him in Suspended animation. I'll keep you posted. I've banned myself from any other experimentation untill I get my promised work done. Hopefully it'll get done quick. I'm dying to play. C
