CatBall - MouseBall - JellyBall
apprentice replied to NancyGormezano's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
My dial up was so slow I could only see the jelly ball. Wow! that's really beautiful, the colors, designs, I like the green specular thing on the jelly ball. I wonder how did you do that. Beautiful work Nancy! -
Alrighty then pixelmech!
-
That is really cool!
-
Nice! Hey, I know that song, my brother was crazy about the band. Are you going to make the whole music video? It'll be really cool to have stuffs like this from AM user playing on my psp

It looks really interesting Gerry, keep us updated!
-
Thanks Gerry hmm...style that suggests stories...interesting....I didn't think about that, must be at the subconcious but it's really interesting that you mentioned that I'd like to think more about it. Hey, I'm excited to know that you're doing the simple design too, I'd really like to see how you are going to approach it. Keep me updated! Nosferatu, thanks. You're right, eyes leading the movement thing. I will remember that. Thanks johnl3d for your .02, it worths alot more to me cause it's true, she does blink too much. When you're surrounded by keyframes sometimes you get lost Thanks for your observation.

Hey Gerry, I really like his design and proportion. I'd love to see more renders. Is he going to be umm...what's that...flexible rubber hose character? I went to your website, wow you're quite an artist.

Thanks, Steve. I wanted to have that reflection too but somehow it's not appearing on the pond. I think it's because she's too high in position and also the camera's perspective. I could make it appear but she has to be far away back there or very close to the water, I haven't tried other camera angles. Do you know any other solutions?

Tom, thank you much!If it's ok I will enter it to the mini contest. I hope I can enter a different one before the deadline. Nancy, thank you. I'm glad that you found it cute! I'm always kind of scared to draw female species, I'm afraid I'll make her look non cute Dearmad, thank you, now I have more confirmations that the style may work. I was surprised too with the zip file size. Good thing cause my dial up is like 26k. Steve P, thank you for your keen eyes. I totally forgot about Ms. Pacman! Hmm...what can I do...actually I forgot to turn her glow on for that render. I'll try tweaking more settings. Thanks again. Agep, thanks I'm glad that you liked the style. I tried some craters on her but I couldn't make it work, I should try again. The truth is I'm still trying to grasp the style for the whole short. My plan was to create something cartoony and not too detailed so I can finish quick and show it to my mom. Seriously

It's lipstick dude Thanks Jake for the comment, I must make the lipstick more recognizable. Thanks again, I feel alot more motivated now.

Hi Flog, I like the character designs, especially the little girl's costume and the little blue guy. I think they should have more definition on the body, looks rather flat to me well, unless that's how you want them to be

Hi Robcat2075, thanks for the comment, now I can move on to other characters. Yeah, Finding Nemo definitely will a good study, I should study other Pixar stuffs too. I watched some Pocahontas last night, beautiful stuffs. I realized that I appreciate the movie more when I'm actually working on one.

Thank you for the pic Laurent. Happy new year to you too. It's a very nice picture. I like it very much.
-
Wow...you are indeed one of AM master.

Hi Xade you're right, it was the pic with the big red flower in front. Thanks to you guys for the suggestion to put some greens instead. Oh wow, thanks for your nice comments. I'm really getting excited! Hi Wegg *gasp* the Eggington boss! Wow...thanks for your comment, really appreciate it. I'm glad that you noticed the un-CG like thing, I was trying exactly to do that. Sorry, that is the only render I have at this moment. That pic took around 1.5 hour to render on P4 1.5, 640 RAM. I'm still saving up to buy new machine

Hi, thank you all for your crits and comments. I appreciate them very much Luckbat : I think it's because the bugs are red so they stand out more than the grass. I toned down the red a bit. Thanks for your suggestion. Darklimit: Thanks for pointing the shadow thing. The shadows weren't dark enough. I darkened the shadows a bit. I tried stronger shadows but didn't like the look for this particular scene. Thanks again for the tip. Btw I love your works. Xtaz: Ah...good eye! Good eye! Well, actually those aren't roses. I just wanted the flowers to look that way so I picked a bit from rose, bit from tulip and bit from a flower I saw in a garden. Rodney: Thanks Rodney, you really motivated me. Thierry: Thanks, I was trying to achieve that romantic thingie So this is the new pic with fixes from your suggestions. Do you think it is better or worse? I've been staring at this scene for so long I can't tell much difference between the two now. Please help.

Hi, sorry it took forever for me to reply. Thank you very much for your comment and suggestion hypnomike. I removed the big red foreground flower and replaced it with some greens as you suggested. I will post the new image as soon as I'm done with the lighting. Hi, Zaryin. Sweeper is a free plug in by emilio le roux. Here's a description from his website "Sweep is a modeling plug-in that extrudes a cross-section along a path." For details http://www.moscafilms.com.br/emilio/online.../amplugins.html 10.5 version is available here: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7777&hl=sweep For the grass, I used single splines to "draw" the grass positions and directions. Created the grass' body and used sweeper plug in and voila I'm done.

Somebody's gotta do it...Squidward's house!
apprentice replied to jamagica's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
It looks fun. Can't wait to see when you're done with the "coloring". -
Flog!!! thanks for your kind comment. Thanks for yours too Zaryin A tut? would love to but I think there's just basic stuffs in there really, modeling, decaling, furs, and oh yeah Emilio Le Roux's sweeper helped me create the grass (thanx Emilio). But if you have questions I'll be more than happy to answer. This is a new WIP render. I added the uh...weed thingie and more grass. I still need to fix the things that you guys suggested: the dark top corners, more flowers variations and some noticeable twin grasses. So what else sucks? Do you think the blurred foreground flower is too big and distracting? I want the attention to the two middle flowers. Your comments and critics will be very helpful for me. Thanks again

I always enjoy seeing Zandoria's work. It almost feels like free entertainment Uh...I guess I'd better buy his book and support the artist huh...I'll break the piggy bank soon.
