  1. Happy Birthday, Will. You are an inspiration to all of us.
  2. Thanks Guys, This makes our tenth collaboration together. I know Pixar is not shakin in their boots, but not bad for a couple of guys who knew nothing about animation and met on this forum just 2 1/2 years ago. We couldn't have gotten this far if it hadn't been for all the help we've received from ALL of you generous people here on the forum. We are just two of the guys that Martin's vision was aimed at with the creation of this software. And it is SO MUCH freakin fun!
  3. The latest Spleengene Animations production. Enjoy, please!

    awards :))

Those go next to your Ammy's?
  5. thanks, Holmes, he does. this is the clip that is in the video, I'm redoing it for mike to use for his own purposes.. there are so many animation mistakes in that clip it's hard to count, but I'll tweak it and refine it. gonna stretch it out a bit too, I think the moves will be a lot "sexier" if it is all slowed down just a tad. Despite all the mistakes, I'm still happy with the clip. It works.

    Multipass

Thanks Robert, Once again, I kinda thought that was the way it is. I know about some features (bump maps, etc.) don't work without multi-pass. As I get deeper into using this wonderful software, I want my understanding to hopefully grow as well. So I thought I'd ask. Multi-pass 1, small resolution= trial renders>short render times, Multipass 16?, whatever resolution = final product>much longer render time (much better-product) EDIT: Thanks again to you , Sir Rodney. You posted as I was typing. I'd read that tech manual more often if I could get my eyes to quit glazing over about halfway down the page.
  7. This will be my first actual animation contribution to one of our Spleengene videos. Before it has always been "non-camera" stuff. The song references numerous local Portland-Vancouver venues and bands. BACK STORY: A local band that I wanted to promote but couldn't work into the song is the Mike Branch Band. A few months ago on Face Book he posted this picture of his logo as a "tattoo" and someone complained and he was asked to take it down. A later attempt ended with the same result. It was taken with good humor and became a running gag amongst those in the know. 4s_Mike_Branch_Glasses.mov

    Multipass

Thanks, John. I thought it was something like that. BTW be on the look out for when I post this latest clip, it is right down your alley.

why would I want to do 1, or 2 or 4 or 7 passes?

    Old Clips gone?

When I was contemplating investing in A:M (had I known then what I know now I would have printed the $299) I spent a lot of time perusing those clips in the "vintage" A:M Films. I went back to the site several times to view them again and again. They were a major part of my decision to take the plunge. For someone coming in who had no CG background, (nor photoshop) they were a powerful enticement. Have I mentioned how much I love this software?

    Old Clips gone?

Thank You, Mark. I can't imagine how I missed that. Lots of old favorites there.

    Old Clips gone?

Robert: Yes, I meant the original A:M Films site. Mark: I went to the Hash home page and the Gallery/A:M Films took me to the "new" A:M Films site. Where do I find the link to the Vintage A:M Films?
  14. Thanks Mark. I've been spending too much time on Facebook. I found myself looking for the"like" button.

    Old Clips gone?

I spent some time learning to navigate around in the "new" A:M Films this morning. There a few of the classics from the "old" A:M films that I couldn't seem to locate. I'm not sure if it was my navigational abilities or the fact that they are no longer included. the Titles I was looking for are : "Little Ditty", and "It's bad.....ALL bad...." Just wondering if they just didn't make the cut or if they're gone for good?

    Cicak

Great stuff, Gerry. To my eye, however, the intensity of the devil image, if toned down just a hair, would allow those wonderful gecko's stand out a bit more.
  17. I went with Robcats suggestion. I didn't have to delete anything and I could switch it back on to use the IK. Thanks for the help.
  18. Vertexspline, Thank you for the vote and please vote every day, this is the finals and the voting ends Thursday. The animation was done mostly by Gene the Spleen. We have done quite a number of Video's together. If you go to his utube channel: Spleengene Here you can see them. They were all done in A:M we are rabid fans and supporters of this software.
  19. Thank you Rob, I've worked with the Smartskin a little already, I think I can get that, but I WILL holler if I get stuck. Mr. BoooTaay, I figured if anybody would appreciate that model it would be you. Thanks for the figurative map. I'll try both methods just to enhance my skills. Thanks again, Gentlemen.
  20. We have entered our latest completed video, done to another song from Franco Paletta's CD: "Can't Kick Love" The first one an award back in March, and this one is in the FINAL's to win this months award for the best music video for this month. So I am shamelessly soliciting your help to register with the site, and ask you to vote once a day to help us bring in a second illustrious award. thanks, here's the link to the site. "I Can't Stand It"
  21. I'm working on a project where I will be using Lambrina (From the extra's CD), giving her creator, Den Beauvais, credit for her creation. The info file does not tell me what version she was created in. She will be in a red dress. My partner in crime, the esteemed Mr. Spleen, is working on the model and exploring the vagaries of cloth simulation. I on the other hand, am approaching things from a different tack. I wish to make a walk cycle of her in the red dress, and intend to manipulate the dress using Smartskin. Which brings me to my conundrum. The model in bones mode shows perfectly good right and left thigh bones. However when I go to create a pose to work the dress CP's in Smartskin, the thigh bones are hidden. I have looked in the PWS to try to un-hide them but have been unable to find the particular nook ( possibly a cranny) where they are hidden. So I have come once again, CG hat in hand, to the wise and generous forum Guru's to call upon whomever will, to take pity upon me in my plight, and guide me, once again, to enlightenment. How do I make Dem Bones visible in the Pose? I have uploaded the file so you don't have to go searching. Thank You. Lambrina.zip
  22. The personality transcended the splinage. Great Piece!

    Cicak

    Looking very good!
  24. As usual, Gene has outdone himself again. Here are a couple of shots of the real Franco, just in case you might have been interested. I think Gene "captured" him well.
  25. Did a successful search and found the answer to my problem Here EDIT: To get the transparency to animate in the groups of a model, AFTER you drop the model into the chor you activate the "show more than drivers" button in the chor's shortcut to the model and animate the group transparencies there. Will let you know how it turns out.
