Thanks, Tom and Michae! Here's another test aimed at eliciting tapered lines This shows the layers being added together.
-
Very cool, didn't know A:M was so good at rendering toon lines especially the varied line thicknes.

A couple of toon line experiments. This one composites renders with four different line widths and biases The next one takes a render with a thick line/very low bias like this... and then a "levels adjustment" to force out the gray.

Thank you Roger, He is a creepy guy, I have some other scary renders of him I should dig up.
-
Very creepy character, love it!

The Hash Image contests were always exciting events to witness and partake in. I submitted to my fair share around the 2000's and was a runner up in the April 1999 Horror theme with my Swamp Demon character. (totally inspired by Meg Mucklebones from the movie Legend) Shortly after the contest I received an email from Jeff Paries asking if he could use my model for one of his tutorials. It then appeared in his next book The Animation:Master 2000 handbook. Seriously what an honor!

Thank you for the quick replies. I will follow up as indicated.

I am working hard on getting my 3D Editor that support only vertex and tri ! 😁 But warning it is unstable thought There is a screenshot here : Have a nice day !

Thank you Lee, nice to hear my work is appreciated I had that collection of Hildebrandt cards decorating my cubical when I was taking Illustration!

We looked at this at Live Answer Time and I put in some simple IK legs. The Foot targets move the feet and the knee targets control the knee direction. The animation in the Chor shows the constraints in action. RabbitFeet008.prj

Hello- I saw a product at Comic Con last year and it was intriguing. This new app allows animators to tell stories that are sort of hybrids between animated storyboards and full animation. They also pay for content on a sliding basis. https://www.storiaverse.com/for-animators For any storytellers on the Forum, check them out.. Tom

Thanks for sharing, Michael! I love your work and remember seeing some of your art as inspiration to get me into 3D. I share your enthusiasm for those illustrators, I’ve still got dozens of trading cards painted by the Hildebrandt brothers. It’s amazing how much of a difference even a little bit of art and illustration training comes through in 3D quality, and the quality really shows in your work!

Thanks Roger! I agree with you about A:M not getting the press.

I was able to create an IK constraint on one leg, save the model, reload it, and have the constraint survive and work correctly. So I know it is possible to make a constraint and save it in a model. All the other folders in your "Feet targets" constraint are empty, but I'm presuming they are supposed to have something in them. What rig is this? I'm guessing some step in the rigging process was omitted. If you wanted to bring this to Live Answer Time tomorrow we could look at that.

again I get this queer outcome of loosing foot targets after saving a model. I have a rabbit from the extradvd and I tried to make a bone attachment. I added an umbrella and made new poses for them. The umbrella seems to work, but I don't see my feet targets have any effect. AM19.5AVX rabbit17.mdl

@Michael Brennan Very nice work on the character in the blue jumpsuit, he looks a bit like Jon Bernthal. The model below him is very well done, also.
-
AM has always been capable of doing the same quality of work, it just doesn't get the press. Sometimes I feel like we should make Rodney Dangerfield our honorary mascot.
-
I remember Martin telling us that A:M WAS being used professionally, it just wasn't getting credit for it!
