Grubber Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 Hi animasters! It's been a very very very while I've posted here! But I didn't forget A:M! So Xmas is coming, and I have am planing to try to do something like post card. Here is candlestick model. I know it's looks a little bit strange. So c&c are very welcome, suggestions as well! Quote
starwarsguy Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 Could those little legs so close together really hold a candle that long? I think if you spread them out a little more it would look better. Quote
D.Joseph Design Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 I agree with Kyle. I also think it looks a little to "weak" to balance sturdy enough for a candle (this wouldn't pass fire code). But I like the model! It's a really nice candle stand. In fact, you should see about getting them produced. Quote
Grubber Posted November 19, 2004 Author Posted November 19, 2004 I was thinking about spreading those legs, but I affraid to make them too wide. Anyway I will try! Thanks for comments! Quote
starwarsguy Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 It's a great model and I think it would be even better with the feet expanded. Keep it up! Quote
Grubber Posted November 24, 2004 Author Posted November 24, 2004 Well, here I made another candlestick! I tried to make legs a little bit wider for first candlestick, I don't know if there are any noticeable changes... Quote
D.Joseph Design Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Yeah, that looks more stable now. Quote
Grubber Posted November 24, 2004 Author Posted November 24, 2004 Thanks! Friend of main keep telling me, that the leafs looks too similar to each other, but I am going to make it look metallic, so should I randomize ( ) it more? Quote
CreativeAustinYankee Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 Considering that this is going to be a "manufactured" item, randomness of the leaves isn't as important, especially depending on how much of this is going to show in the final output. I do recommend making the "leaf" feet a little bit larger and curlier, but that's more personal preference. Good luck with it. Steve P. Quote
Grubber Posted November 29, 2004 Author Posted November 29, 2004 Thanks CreativeAustinYankee! Here I started staging, but it's not final. I'm thinking to add a xmas tree in the corner, but I think it might be very hard to make the tree, maybe there are other alternatives? Quote
JohnArtbox Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 Grubber: I really like that little candle holder I've got a stylised pine tree you're welcome to. I've already donated it for the 2004 cd. it looks like this: Quote
Grubber Posted November 29, 2004 Author Posted November 29, 2004 These trees looks really nice! But I prefer to make my own. Can anyone explain principal how to make it, please! Quote
Grubber Posted December 10, 2004 Author Posted December 10, 2004 The project has been stuck for a while... I decided not to make tree. As I found it kind difficult! But then the picture lose the feeling of Xmas. As you can see from the render, I have several texturing problems... First: the table. I don't know that happened. In model view it look ok, but in the scene some white areas appears. And those green stick on the candlesticks looks terrible for me. I made it with hair... Also it looks ok in the model view, and in the scene some rendering errors... I don't know that is going on! Quote
starwarsguy Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 GREAT TEXTURING OTHERWISE, THOUGH! Quote
Grubber Posted December 11, 2004 Author Posted December 11, 2004 Thanks... But still I can't solve my problem Quote
starwarsguy Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 What is the table supposed to look like, and what were you trying to do with the hair? Quote
