MMZ_TimeLord Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 This is all a work in progress, but I figured I throw something up for feedback. I modeled the star freighter first and then the engine room as a separate model to be merged inside. I'm trying to block in my shots at this point... so no detail on the models either. Here is the star freighter itself... and the engine room with two characters for scale. This is a portion of the outside shell with the engine room model merged into it (to save patches). More to come as I get it cranked out... Quote
Admin Rodney Posted September 16, 2004 Admin Posted September 16, 2004 Jody, You are off to a great start on this one and that four armed man (humanoid??) lets us in on a little of your storyline. There is a story in there just dying to get out. The first picture is extrememly dark on my monitor so I can't really say much about it as I didn't really see anything. I know that is probably the look you are going for but I'd love to see you add a small light or two to bring out the detail. Keep those updates coming! - Rodney Quote
MMZ_TimeLord Posted September 16, 2004 Author Posted September 16, 2004 Okay... well the main story is one of existing friendships, discovery and making new friendships as well as a lot of exploration. The ship... "Stormy Knight" The crew... Captain/Chief Engineer: Jozip (4 armed humanoid in the WIP, still needs LOTS of cleanup) Astro Navigator/Computer Specialist: Matry (shorter creature in the WIP, LOTS to do on his rig) Pilot/Cargo Chief: Wheetle (Female Feline type biped, yet to be modeled) Copilot/Security Chief: Zabit (Human Male biped) Contract Agent: Jummit (Male biped, tall thin marsupial, creamy fur, large eyes. Also yet to be modeled.) Let's just say the majority of the story will be kept secret. I actually did add a light... in that scene the ship is supposed to be powered down except for a few marker lights... and it's between systems. Quote
MMZ_TimeLord Posted September 17, 2004 Author Posted September 17, 2004 Updated Freighter render for those who can't see the one above... Quote
MMZ_TimeLord Posted September 17, 2004 Author Posted September 17, 2004 Update... The two characters were tweaked for closer to final skin color and Jozip's face was altered to be closer to finished (4 eyes instead of 2 eyes) The angle in the engine room shot has also been changed to better frame the characters. Paul Forwood Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 What I can see looks very good but I think that you may need to calibrate your monitor. Quote
MMZ_TimeLord Posted September 20, 2004 Author Posted September 20, 2004 Both my "monitors" are LCD (stand alone and laptop screen)... so I'm still wrestling with that... I do however have a treat for everyone... got the rigging complete on Matry's tenticle... have a gander at a quick (took me 5 minutes to make) action I created. Tenticle_Test.mov Quote
MMZ_TimeLord Posted September 21, 2004 Author Posted September 21, 2004 Now I think Matry is getting upset that he's not completely rigged yet... I still have the leg, back and feature (eyes & mouth) control bones to put in and constrain. Quote
MMZ_TimeLord Posted September 22, 2004 Author Posted September 22, 2004 Update: Fixed two of the images above. You should be able to see them with no problem now... Quote
