I have tried many video players from the internet and even found that AM when importing jpgs animation can play clips by opening the image and hitting the "play" button in the playback bar at the bottom. (something that would have been handy to know yrs. ago.) But it plays slowly first time and then at hyper speed or unpredictable speed after 1st time. And the windows playback is just as unpredictable.

My question is-Anyone know of a good player? Need'nt point out how much an animator needs to see stuff play in real (correct) time. Any help appreciated (sorry, no cash awards)

Quicktime is deprecated now as a security hazard but I still use it. It can load image sequences. Quicktime Pro (extra cost) can compress them in a variety of formats.

It is the only player that can reliably step through video in single frames.
