John,

Audio with a good beat should accentuate the amplitude.

Then it might mostly be a matter of finding the sweet spot in a rig to translate, rotate or scale.

Bum. Bum BUMP Bum

Bum. Bum BUMP Bum

Keep going! :)

Added a random beat created online via https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/Song-Maker/song/6529628858482688

The basic idea being to use the beat to drive the animation but then go back in and layer in additional music/instruments on top to add flavor to the performance.

The additional music not driving any motion... more to drive the viewers e-motion.

Generated Wav file is attached. (Midi file can also be generated)

Here's Shaggy pretending he's got musical talent.

I started off just wanting to have the Amplitude wizard make his foot tap to a beat and then started adding that same beat in to other bones.

All movement is based on the WAV file I posted above with a few manual tweaks of channels afterward.

I'll note that you can RMB in the PWS on the channel for the Pose slide and use Reduce to smooth out the data from the Amplitude plugin.

Larger numbers (try 30 and larger) will make more smoothing
