c-wheeler Posted March 26, 2004 Posted March 26, 2004 Just getting to grips with the excellent CD by Bill Young on face modeling. Unfortunately I cant get the Darktree symbiont provided in chapter three to work, and now everytime I try to start up AM, I get the following error code: Unhandled exception in texture plugin: C:\ProgramFiles\Hash Inc \v10.5\Textures\Symbiont2.atx This plugin will not be loaded Anyone any advice as to what I am doing wrong? By the way Darktree as well!!!!!!! Most excellent! http://home.btconnect.com/FatclownFilms/ Ambition is critical Quote
Admin Rodney Posted March 26, 2004 Admin Posted March 26, 2004 Gotta ask... You have downloaded the Simbiont plugin right? It sounds like it's looking for the plugin but... can't find it. In case the answer is No I haven't... The simbiont plugin is a free download from Darktree If the answer is "Yes". .... sorry not really sure... Quote
johnl3d Posted March 26, 2004 Posted March 26, 2004 Sounds like you do not have plugin installed or at least the latest one go here http://www.darksim.com/html/simbiont.html to see what they can do http://www.pixelburg.com/am_materialtest/d...nt21/index.html johnl3d Quote
Bill_Y Posted March 26, 2004 Posted March 26, 2004 It sounds to me like you might have the wrong version of the plug-in for your system. You can try getting a newer version from the darksim site. If you keep getting the error go into the textures folder and remove the symbiont plug-in. I'm not sure that the Symbiont included on the CD is the most recent one. There should be a readme on the CD that said to make sure you check the Darksim web site to ensure that you get the most recent incarnation of the plug-in for you're version of A:M; however, the texture isn't really needed to finish up the CD.
