Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted January 7, 2014 Hash Fellow Posted January 7, 2014 This is the first I've heard of this next big thing... 21:9 format TV. http://www.redsharknews.com/technology/ite...reen-is-instead How long before it just wraps all around you? Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted January 7, 2014 Author Hash Fellow Posted January 7, 2014 Instead of building new LCD screens for these new formats may be a better idea would be a laser beam projector that can paint any screen ratio and scale it to fit any available surface, like that white sheet I have nailed on the wall. Wildsided Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 That's gonna be a hell of wide image vs height. How much extra room on either side of a shot do you need? That's either gonna make everyone look too wide if it's just stretching the image to fit or leave masses of space on either side of the centre of the shot. Would be nice for a panoramic view of a landscape but what's the point otherwise. I don't need to see the rest of coffee shop Bruce Willis is in to know he's in one. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted January 7, 2014 Author Hash Fellow Posted January 7, 2014 I find it hard to compose even 16:9 shots. I like 4:3 Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted January 7, 2014 *A:M User* Posted January 7, 2014 Google the RED cameras for shooting video in this raw format. Think what it is like to edit the video! The power that it will take to process. Steve Quote
