Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted May 24, 2013 Hash Fellow Posted May 24, 2013 It's "made for Bootcamp". I looked at Bootcamp... what is it? A webpage designer? Quote
itsjustme Posted May 24, 2013 Author Posted May 24, 2013 Bootstrap Sleek, intuitive, and powerful front-end framework for faster and easier web development. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted May 24, 2013 Hash Fellow Posted May 24, 2013 It's the "front end" part I'm not sure about. the definition of "front end " i find is that it's the "initial stage of a process". So you don't actually get your web page done with this? Would A:M be a "Front end" if it only modeled? Quote
itsjustme Posted May 24, 2013 Author Posted May 24, 2013 It's the "front end" part I'm not sure about. the definition of "front end " i find is that it's the "initial stage of a process". So you don't actually get your web page done with this? Would A:M be a "Front end" if it only modeled? I've only used a text program for HTML, CSS, etc...so, I haven't used it. From what little I've read on their site, it has to compile the finished product. Here's another quote: Built with LESS LESS CSS Bootstrap is made with LESS at its core, a dynamic stylesheet language created by our good friend, Alexis Sellier. It makes developing systems-based CSS faster, easier, and more fun. Why LESS? One of Bootstrap's creators wrote a quick blog post about this, summarized here: Bootstrap compiles faster ~6x faster with Less compared to Sass Less is written in JavaScript, making it easier to us to dive in and patch compared to Ruby with Sass. Less is more; we want to feel like we're writing CSS and making Bootstrap approachable to all. What's included? As an extension of CSS, LESS includes variables, mixins for reusable snippets of code, operations for simple math, nesting, and even color functions. Quote
itsjustme Posted May 24, 2013 Author Posted May 24, 2013 And another quote: Not using Bootstrap? Font Awesome works just as well without Bootstrap. Copy the font-awesome directory into your project. Follow the above directions and skip the Bootstrap parts. Open your project's font-awesome.less or font-awesome.min.css and edit the font location to point it to your font directory (see above examples). Check out the examples to start using Font Awesome!
