Simon Edmondson
Of slight interest perhaps. I'm rendering exactly the same scene, with the same settings, at the same time, using V15 and V17 on my Imac. The V17 frames are going through at 2mins02 average and the V15 frames at 5mins 29. Quite a difference ! simon
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted April 29, 2013 Hash Fellow Share Posted April 29, 2013 Isn't that nice! Steffen did the optimizing that makes that work.
Vertexspline
In 3d animation --render spreed is so crucial. Taking each frame and multiplying the savings per frame over a 4 minute short is one thing. But factor in the amount of renders never used but needed to be done and you can see how amazing that kind of speed bump that Simon indicates would make you very happy to acheive. Kudos to Steffen !!!
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted April 30, 2013 Hash Fellow Share Posted April 30, 2013 There was a time when Mac render times were many times longer than PC. Not just a little slower but WAY slower. Now it seems they are pretty much similar.
