Kamikaze Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Here I'm trying to use DOF with tha hair system...doesn't look right to me....... When I use fog it's not right either..I'll post a pic of fog on this later....... Using 17e 63bit Win 7 Quote
Admin Rodney Posted February 1, 2013 Admin Posted February 1, 2013 I won't attempt to troubleshoot your DOF issue... I'm not familiar enough with DOF usage to hazard a guess. I will suggest a quick workaround... compositing. Render the shot twice, once with current DOF and once without. Composite both images together with a gradient transparency controlling the non-DOF layer. This will give you maximum control over the effect. For even greater control you could layer several levels of the same images with varying transparencies for each. The same treatment should work for fog too. On to others more suitably DOF'd to assist you. Edit: At a guess, I'd say you need to render with the Alpha Channel set to on. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 2, 2013 Hash Fellow Posted February 2, 2013 The non-multi-pass version of DOF is only a quick approximation and won't work great in all situations. In particular, it doesn't work against the plain camera background. If you need sky in the background, put a sky colored patch in back of everything. Quote
