Hey !..that kinda reminded me of the effect at the beginning of the Time Tunnel TV series.....back there in the 60s or was that the 70s ...I loved that show.......nice effect t John....

Yes, that second one really pulls you in.

 

I think having some variable speed (ease in/ease out?) going into the corners would be nice as that would not only give a sense of acceleration but also allow the viewer to see more of the tunnel they are in. As a suggestion perhaps you could stretch out the over all length (doubling the duration) but then accelerating through the straightaways.
