Gerry
this is a great sequence by Glen Keane, set to a Phil Collins song, probably from the soundtrack.
Admin Rodney Posted October 25, 2012 Admin Share Posted October 25, 2012 My thought when I first saw this was that I wished I'd seen it before downloading all the individual images... lol. The guy that posted it on one site suggested turning off the music because it isn't relevant (in sync) with the actual scenes depicted in the animatic but was added after the fact so that everyone would have something to listen to while watching the images. Perhaps someone with a lot of time on their hand will sync the imagery with the actual film... Thanks for posting this Gerry. I hear Glen Keane is going to be at CTN this year. I'd sure love to get the chance to see him in person and hear what his plans are going forward.
Gerry
Glad you like it rodney. I love seeing roughs like this worked into an animatic. It seems just as "alive" to me as finished animation! I had never heard of CTN before but did a search, looks cool! Have you ever been? Seems like there's a lot of animation activity in the Burbank area.
Admin Rodney Posted October 25, 2012 Admin Share Posted October 25, 2012 I had never heard of CTN before but did a search, looks cool! Have you ever been? Seems like there's a lot of animation activity in the Burbank area. I've never been there but have been following it pretty closely since I first heard of it. It's not everywhere that you an go and hang out with animation professionals that are interested in animation itself more than the money to be found in it. I think the downturn of hand drawn animation has been something of a blessing in this sense in that a lot of folks tend to rally behind events like CTN to encourage others to prosper in all forms of animation. At this point I don't think CTN has become overly commercial and I hope they can maintain that indefinitely. It's also a great place to network and job search (or so I have heard concerning previous years). If the door of opportunity opens I'd love to attend but I've not got the money to spend on such frivolous activities. If someone I knew was going to be there I'd be more likely to attend and if anyone else is planning on going perhaps we could even split the cost of a room nearby. IMO, if you are into animation CTN is currently the main event.
Gerry
It's a little late to make it for this year but I'm putting it on my calendar for next time!
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted October 25, 2012 Hash Fellow Share Posted October 25, 2012 His scratchy drawings look so much better than my scratchy drawings.
Gerry
I know, I'm jealous! I really hate it when other artists make it look easy!
