Simon Edmondson
http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=15282 I was trying to read up about using Compositer within AM and found some mention and links to a tutorial by Homeslice. He mentioned a tutorial by Davis Rodgers which I followed up with the link above, only to find that there were a number of missing images. Has the info been moved elsewhere ? regards simon
Admin Rodney Posted October 5, 2012 Admin Share Posted October 5, 2012 Yes, unfortunately. This is an example of why we should not link to external images from the forum. They are only as reliable as the location we link to. I suppose you could contact David Rogers and request the files. He might still have them. If someone else in the forum downloaded the images or converted the tutorial to a PDF they could upload them and we could add the images back in. Note that the project file should still work fine with the text as it is. Also, if you haven't viewed Noel Pickering's Tech Talk on Compositing that's a good one: http://www.hash.com/ftp/pub/movies/techtal.../Composite.html

I shall follow it up straight away. Regards Simon

I followed up the link you provided and it asked me to update the Flash player. I did that and installed it but, when I went back to try the link again it still wanted me to install the latest version... This has happened before with other things, notably on Youtube, so I suspect it may be part of the Apple - Adobe battle I've heard about? Is there another format I could try ? regards simon
Admin Rodney Posted October 5, 2012 Admin Share Posted October 5, 2012 Keep in mind that some of the Tech Talk (perhaps most or all of them) may require the Ensharpen Codec from Techsmith. You can find the download links for both Win and Mac on the bottom right of this page (you'll have to scroll down to it): http://www.techsmith.com/download.html
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted October 5, 2012 Hash Fellow Share Posted October 5, 2012 For the Flash videos you MIGHT try a different browser (if there are such things for Mac). You'll probably need to reinstall the Flash plugin again when the different browser looks for it. The Ensharpen codec will be for Quicktime videos. Rodney I got the ensharpen but it seems to be the same. Robert Mark W suggested Firefox so I might try that later. I was trying to avoid Chrome because I get enough google cookies as it is ( grrrr ) Thank you both for your help. simon

I'm using the latest Chrome on Mac OSX 10.6.8 Chris I'll try it again later but I can't get it to work at the moment. If I was a superstitious chap I'd begin to wonder about mal spirits. My car keys went missing last night in the 15 foot from car door to front door, and other things keep popping up and going too !!! Just installed Chrome and it seems to access the file Rodney mentioned. Just have to learn from it now. Thank you all. simon ps I've just watched it and, ( to use an english expression ) GORDON BENNET !!! Thats one extremely powerful feature. The case for a comprehensive and functional wiki grows even bigger. ps2 I just tried the address at the end of the talk for the composite Tutorial and got a 404 file not found. Has it been moved ? http://www.hash.com/am2005/Composite/tutorial.htm
